Misaki's head throbbed restlessly, especially whenever she called Leo's phone and found his number unavailable.
Ten minutes had already passed, and the chair she was sitting on had turned into an inferno.
She hesitated to call the police without grounds. But she decided to go to the location and check for herself before worrying any further.
She was almost at her car when her phone started ringing.
Her steps halted as she checked who the caller was.
Her breathing became unsteady when she saw Vida's name printed at the top of the screen.
It gave her an instant bad feeling.
Still, she picked up.
"Hello—"
"Don't do anything stupid, or he dies!" said Vida dryly.
"I knew it!" she whispered unsteadily. "I knew you did something to him. Where is he? I swear to God, if you hurt him, I'll—"
"You're in no position to threaten me, Misaki. I have your little boyfriend. Now, if you report this to the cops or tell anybody, the next big event you're gonna attend will be his funeral!"
