Chapter 258 - Prevention is Key

Because of the arrival of the displaced villagers, the ministers had some of the most intense arguments in a long while during morning court. The court was split between providing aid and sending the villagers away. Initially, someone within the "Provide Aid" faction had said the Capital should provide asylum for the displaced villagers, but he was immediately heavily criticized and attacked by ministers of the "No Aid" faction.

"Where in the Capital will we put the displaced villagers? There is hardly enough space for the citizens here as it is! There are almost a thousand displaced villagers—how, and where, are we supposed to build enough housing for a thousand people in such a short amount of time? In addition, if we let them in, we will be letting in the plague!"
