It wasn't what he had wanted for them. It wasn't how life was supposed to be. But pain had turned him into a zombie, functioning only on the scent of blood. Because maybe if he spilled enough blood, if he broke enough rules by the moon goddess…
Then maybe the goddess would take him out, too.
Maybe he would get his chance to have the family he had always prayed for.
Maybe he would get his chance to live like a normal kid with his mom and dad in the afterlife.
Maybe that would be the best punishment for him.
Because right now, he couldn't breathe. Everything else was making no sense, and it hurt like hell.
