Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

I woke up drenched in sweat, heart racing, breath shaky. My sheets clung to my damp skin, and my legs felt like jelly. If I stood up now, I'd probably crash to the floor—and the last thing I wanted was to wake June.

I turned my head toward the clock. 2:00 AM.

Every time I closed my eyes, the same nightmare came back: all my loved ones lying in a pool of blood. No matter how loudly I screamed, no one heard me—because they were all dead. I ran to my father's body, my hands trembling, trying desperately to shake him awake. I cried so hard my vision blurred.

Even Maia and June were there—lifeless. The sight shattered me. I didn't think it could get worse until a hand gripped mine.
