Chapter 214 - More Danger Than Was Bargained For

We'd collet ourselves, ignoring what Jane had said, for it was insignificant. We had much to do after all. The creature was dead, but in the state it was, the mana would dissipate from it too quickly for it to be useful.

The amount of credits we would receive from it, that too was lackluster. So we'd follow the guide, killing it in the best way we could. In a way that would minimize damage. All that was easier said than done though, the creature's seemed built only for death, even their anatomy said as much.

The strange occurrences seemed to be on a streak still, as a dark and twisted thing appeared for but a flicker. It was brief, it was fleeting, but it was terrifying. We neither saw nor heard it, but we felt it, somewhere out there in the sands.
