Chapter 218 - Sparks of Conflict

Stella waved her hand before me, attempting to steal my focus, to no avail, but I'd at least pretend to be engaged. That too was to no avail.

I looked at her, and I attempted to speak, but there were no words. I'd need a moment, or a few. I would sit, even as the hands clawed for me, clearer then, more vivid.

In fact, all the mana I saw was more vivid, or that is how I had perceived it at first. In truth, it was more vivid in places, in streams and currents. I could only perceive the change in the first place because of my unique eyes.

I'd distract myself with the phenomenon for a moment. The mana the place, no, the creature gave off, it would consume all else, including flesh. The advent of spirit manipulation and the bodies they made, the cloaks of mana worn, all stalling the inevitable.

It was then that I'd witness something strange, I could see the sand become irate, through the retaliation of the mana. I looked to the commotion in the form of mana, but there was nothing.
