The vine's striking speed was relatively slow, so they had to act first, then have Ange push out his arm to block the vine's descending path. Their cooperation needed to be very precise.
Now the Ancient Man Snake's vine had lashed out, but Ange failed to push out his arm, naturally missing the target.
