When Anvis' avatar located at the Starfire secret base fell into dormancy, in the Deep Dream World, the massive Floating City, dragging the desperately struggling Pomona, passed through a special dream rift and submerged into the Inversion Layer at the bottom of the Deep Dream World.
This rift possessed a special mechanism; once a being passed through, the rift's teleportation orientation would randomly change—a tactic employed by Anvis to briefly delay his pursuers.
Upon reaching the Inversion Layer, the Floating City quickly moved to an odd miniature dream realm according to dream coordinates. Just as Pomona was about to break free, Anvis tossed him into a stream of chaotic dream currents.
The flow of time in these chaotic, deep dream currents differed from other areas; even if a Ninth Rank were to be accidentally swept up and escaped at top speed, several days might have already passed in the outside world.
