Somewhere, situated in a random new york orphanage, stood a young boy, likely at the age of 10 speaking to a girl who looked around the same age.
"Hey Susie they didn't hurt you too much, right."
"N-no not too much. I only got a sprained ankle, miss Lily said not to press down on it too much.'
Jack thought that he should get payback for both of them. While they were older than him, they weren't very smart from what he's seen of them. But how can i get my revenge. Maybe. I can get them purposely in trouble, while jack was lost in thought on how to get his payback. Susie was trying to get his attention in different manners.
"jack hey jack hello"
Susie clapped her hands in front of his face so as to get his attention
"Huh, what is it Susie"
Shocked out of his thoughts from a loud noise right in front of his face, he saw Susie with her hands in front of his face
"jeez what were you thinking about so much that you ignored me trying to talk to you i was trying to tell you that we should go get some food i think they are serving it now."
"huh oh right thanks"
Jack sheepishly rubbed the back of his head with his hand as he went with Susie to go get some food. As jack walked, he looked around the orphanage as he saw a handful of children all doing something so as to cope with the boredom that came with living at an orphanage. Some were playing jump rope or hopscotch or just sitting down talking.
"Jack look"
As jack looked next to him to look at Susie, who asked him to look somewhere, he saw her pointing to an open door where a group of kids seemed to be getting talked to by two adults. Getting yelled at was a more better word than talking. Jack started to laugh out loud when he saw it.
"Haha, that's what you deserve"
The kids looked at him a bit scornfully and one of the adults started walking towards them, looking a bit exasperated. He looked towards jack.
"Jack, it's time for dinner right now. Go get some food, and so should you, Susie.
He closed the door in their face. Susie looked like she felt bad for boys.
"Susie, why would you feel bad for them, didn't they hurt you?"
"Well yeah, but i don't think we should make fun of them for it. Shouldn't all of us stick together so we can help each other when we need help."
Jack thought that was weird, feeling bad for someone who hurt them. But then again, Susie always was a bit too compassionate. Jack lifted his hand and put it on Susie's head abruptly and started to pat her head
"Haha, you are too cute Susie."
Susie looked a bit annoyed, as she puffed up her cheeks
"Hey Jack, we are the same age you can't do this to me I'm not a little girl."
While Susie looked annoyed on the outside, on the inside she was content.
