CHAPTER START---
"What?" Shigaraki mutters, his mind like murky water, desperately trying to understand the sight before him.
Sitting on the floor, he sees Lemillion, Tsukuyomi, and Deku staring back at him.
"Heroes? What day is it?"
Shigaraki barely tilts his head, and that is enough to snap them out of their petrified states.
Dark Shadow expands, enveloping all the walls, rushing toward Shigaraki.
Lemillion leaps forward, aiming his fingers at Shigaraki's eyes to make him flinch and block his vision.
But Deku takes the most drastic action, unleashing his Quirk in a dash toward Shigaraki, wary of the Villain's Decay, aiming a fist at his head before a finger can be raised.
Seeing these attacks coming, Shigaraki's brain works on overdrive as all his instincts demand he survives.
'Lemillion and Tsukuyomi, annoying at best,' he sees Deku's metal boot inches away from his head, and instantly gets annoyed.
Shigaraki's body glows bright blue, forcing Dark Shadow to shrink back into Tsukuyomi before an explosion rocks the entire hospital, destabilizing the structure around them.
Dark Shadow catches Deku, who was launched back from the Detonation Quirk, and both heroes are knocked through the far wall of the room.
Reacting on instinct, Lemillion activates his Quirk and leaps forward through the explosion, allowing everything to phase through him.
Shigaraki sees his attack and doesn't react, instead rising to his full height and focusing on his own mind and body.
He flexes his fingers and limbs as Lemillion reaches him, casually raising a hand to the incoming fist, forcing Lemillion to become permeable and phase through him, ending up on the other side of the Villain.
Shigaraki frowns, feeling immense pain in his body.
'My Quirks didn't bind properly. These pests woke me up too early. I need to know what day it is. My procedure was months long, but his was a few weeks shorter. Maybe he's awake already…'
"What's today's date?" Shigaraki asks as Lemillion attacks again, and is once again forced to phase through his outstretched hand, returning to his original position in front of the Villain.
'Shigaraki is asking me for the date,' Lemillion says to Mandalay telepathically. 'He must be feeling that his body is incomplete. This is the best chance we'll get to end this.'
'Copy.'
"Why does that matter?" Lemillion asks, and behind him, Deku and Tsukuyomi step through the broken wall and back into the room.
Shigaraki scoffs, then narrows his eyes onto Deku. "Deku, what makes you so special?"
The thought of One For All rings through the three Pro Heroes' minds, but nobody speaks.
"Pro Heroes Deku, Phantom Thief, and Eraser Head," Shigaraki says. "Hand them over and I'll let everyone else go, for today."
Deku and the others immediately come to the same conclusion. 'Shigaraki wants to collect my Quirk, along with Erasure and Warp Gate.'
Three Quirks that would allow him to gain immense power in their eyes, however, Deku smiled at the thought. Because a Quirk cannot be stolen if the body is decayed, therefore…
'He can't use Decay on me!' Deku thinks to himself before dashing forward.
Shigaraki realizes Deku found this slight vulnerability and mentally berates himself for talking too much, but raises a fist to meet Deku's kick, regardless.
Dark Shadow expands, using the darkness of the underground lab to envelop the hallway once more, quickly spreading across the floor to Shigaraki as they clash.
Before their attacks collide, Shigaraki's right hand shimmers yellow.
RECOIL + SUPER POWER x5 + POWER ENHANCER X12 + FORCE MULTIPLIER X2!
Their clash shakes the entire city, forcing Tsukuyomi to extend Dark Shadow above, holding the ceiling up.
Deku feels his attack mirrored at him and added onto Shigaraki's raw power, numbing his leg and destroying the Villain's hand in the process.
He's sent flying back, caught by Dark Shadow, and leaps forward again.
'Damn it!' Shigaraki internally rages. 'If I had all the Quirks I requested, this brat would have been split in two from that! These bastards woke me up too early!'
Shigaraki's fist regenerates in the time it takes Deku to close the distance for another clash, using his other leg this time.
Shigaraki uses the same combination of Quirks to match the attack yet again, but before they make contact, his vision is blocked.
Lemillion erupts from the ground, phasing through the floor and Dark Shadow to obstruct Shigaraki's sight, making him aware that the suite of sensory Quirks he requested aren't working.
Thus, he lacks the sensory abilities of his master.
His eyes widen slightly as Lemillion blocks him, only for his annoyance to become minor concern when Dark Shadow immediately wraps itself around his body, focusing on his outstretched arm that's currently in Lemillion's stomach.
It takes all of Dark Shadow's power to disrupt Shigaraki's strike, pushing his arm just slightly to the side.
Shigaraki immediately breaks the hold by using his raw strength, but the damage is already done.
In the instant this happened, Deku altered the trajectory of his kick to move past Shigaraki's fist and slam into his elbow, shattering the entire limb.
Shigaraki's right arm is broken at the elbow, bone piercing through flesh and leaking blood on the floor as his enhanced Recoil Quirk sends Deku soaring back to Tsukuyomi.
However, while being launched toward his friend, Deku managed to flick a Quirk Deleter Round forward.
It hit in an instant, passing through Lemillion's cape and back, hitting Shigaraki in the right shoulder before he can react to it.
It takes effect instantly, starting to spread through his cells and delete his Quirk factor.
'No!' Shigaraki uses Detonation once again, just as Lemillion enters the ceiling to appear beside his friends.
This explosion is much stronger, knocking them multiple rooms away, and before the shockwave could finish pushing them through the walls.
Shigaraki reaches up to his right shoulder and pulls.
Tearing himself in two, from right shoulder to left hip, faster than the effect of the bullet could spread.
Ripping himself and his body glove in half, and dropping to the floor in unimaginable pain.
Within seconds, Deku crashes back into the room, ready to end this, but to his horror.
He sees a naked Tomura Shigaraki on the floor, beside his own mutilated corpse, which was still wearing the clothes.
Shigaraki looks up at Deku while kneeling, hand flat on the ground, as their gazes meet.
"If you're so important to him, then you should be fine." Shigaraki activates his Quirk, and a wave of Decay rushes through the hallway.
Deku sees the attack coming and considers rushing toward it to knock Shigaraki away from the ground.
But pieces of the ceiling had already begun decaying and falling like snowflakes, and touching any of those is lethal. They would disintegrate him before he could ever reach his target. So, he makes the wise choice.
Turning on his heels and grabbing both his friends, wide-eyed as they are, and leaping with all his might.
He jumps diagonally away from Shigaraki, toward the far wall of the room. Using 100% of his power to leap face-first into a wall, holding both of them.
However, thanks to their training and planning, Dark Shadow knew to wrap them all in a sphere of energy, allowing them to tear through the earth like a cannonball.
---Moments Earlier…
"Dynamight, go, we'll clean up here," Red Riot says while dealing with some minor Villains in the middle of the city.
Beside him, Aux and Ms. Midnight were helping to secure the defeated Villains while he finished the last pair.
"Don't bother with that," Dynamight says before immediately crushing the remaining Villains, adding them to the impressive pile of unconscious enemies. "All of you need to get as far away from the hospital as possible. Shigaraki being awake is a death sentence to anyone who can't fly."
"He's right," Ms. Midnight says. "We can always secure these Villains again if they escape, they people who can fly need space to deal with Shigaraki, not liabilities in the way."
Red Riot frowns, but gives a stern nod. "Running away isn't manly, so kick his ass for me too!"
"Tch, what the hell do you think I was planning, huh?!"
Red Riot and Aux laugh as Dynamight uses his explosions to fly toward the hospital on the northern edge of the city, at the foot of Jaku Mountain.
With High-End Nomu getting in his way, his journey is mostly smooth, leading up to the final stretch at the hospital.
Which is where an energetic rabbit hero arrives at his side.
"What the hell are you doing?" Dynamite asks, flying above the streets while she's leaping across rooftops beside him.
"Kicking Shigaraki's ass! That's what!"
"You can't fly, dumbass! You'll just be in my way?!"
"I'll figure it ou—" Mirko's sentence is cut short by a loud rumbling sound, quickly followed by the sound of rocks shattering and crumbling.
As she's in mid-air between two buildings, the entire Jaku Hospital, the hell it once was along with all the Villains housed there, explodes.
Not in a combustion explosion, but it disintegrates so rapidly that the remaining dust rushes outward.
They barely notice a projectile soaring out of the dust cloud and into the distance, disappearing far beyond the limit of their eyesight thanks to Deku's otherworldly leg strength.
The building Mirko is about to land on is almost instantly hit with the decay wave, moments before her feet make contact.
Only for Dynamight to grab her by the waist and rocket into the sky, using one massive explosion from his free hand to get above the city.
"I told you to run!"
"I wouldn't have been fast enough," She positions herself onto his back, allowing him to steady himself above the city.
"If you're not fast enough, then…" Dynamite feels sick to his stomach. "Mandalay! Kirishima, Jiro, everyone! Did they get out?!"
'I'm getting too much chatter,' she says, but he could tell from her tone that there was no good news for him. 'Just focus on Shigaraki. We'll take a headcount after.'
"Shigaraki," Dynamight grinds his teeth, glaring at the epicenter of the attack, peering into the thick dust cloud.
"He's gotten a lot stronger," Mirko says.
"Yeah," Bakugo admits. "You need to get your ass out of here. If you want to be useful, go get Ryuko to bring Eraser Head here, then you can kick him all you want."
Mirko nods, seeing that the decay wave has stopped a few miles away, meaning it was safe to touch.
Leaning forward, she kisses Dynamight on the cheek before letting go. "Kick his ass for me!" she screams while falling to the ground, then races off to the edge of the city.
'Everyone listen up, we just got some intel from Deku's team,' Mandalay then relays every bit of information they learned during the short encounter underground.
All while Dynamight hovers above the city, waiting for the dust cloud to clear.
As everyone holds their breaths, Lady Nagant scowls.
From her position in the mountain overlooking the city, she can't see through the dust cloud, but the intel about Shigaraki's Quirks annoys her.
'A counter force type Quirk. And with speed and strength comparable to All Might, not to mention whatever else he has…can't waste my shot,' she transforms her hand into a sniper rifle, loads her custom Quirk Deleter Round, and sets up her tripod, lying flat on her stomach before aiming.
It takes minutes for the dust cloud to clear, and when it does, Lady Nagant sees and hears Shigaraki muttering to himself in the middle of the crater.
Most of the city was flattened to rubble and dust, and the small mountain the hospital was built upon was completely gone. Now, the underground area where he began the decay wave, was now revealed to the gloomy overcast sky.
Heavy rain clouds hang overhead, the result of the Todoroki family conflict, and the wind being slow and warm.
Shigaraki breathes a sigh of relief, unaware of all the Quirks dedicated to listening in on his words as he enjoys the warm breeze on his skin.
"Annoying little heroes," he mutters. "You all really did a number on me."
He flexes his hands, focusing on his Quirks, his body, his mind, and glares at his palms.
"I requested so many Quirks, and I can't feel some of them. They woke me up too early. But at least my healing Quirks work, as does Decay. But I need to be careful not to decay those three."
Shigaraki nods to himself, a determined look on his face.
"I can't disintegrate them. No. He gave me chance after chance. No matter how many times I failed him, I won't mess this up. I need those corpses, those Quirks.
But…how strong am I?"
He swings his arm to the side, causing a pressure wave that upturns the ground.
"Definitely leveled up, a lot," he smiles. "Now, if Horizon is level 100—" He cuts himself off.
"No, that thing uses cheats," he says bitterly. "If Star and Stripe was level 100, then…I'm level 35. Tch, they really had to ruin my sleep and sabotage me, those cheating bastards. I sho—"
Shigaraki is interrupted by deafening explosions descending toward him.
"Annoying," he looks up to see Dynamight descending upon him. "I just leveled up, and you haven't even installed the game. Get lost…"
