After a moment, Ruby approached the door and opened it slowly. She looked at me with a shy expression, her gaze dropping the instant our eyes met.
"Ruby, what's wrong?"
"W-What?"
"You've been acting strangely lately. Is something bothering you? I know our greatest enemy is gone and the world is finally at peace, but the real problems often linger inside our heads."
I tapped my forehead. She nodded faintly, offering an apologetic smile.
"Yeah. It's complicated, actually," she said with a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry. I've been acting foolish."
"No, no. Just tell me," I replied gently. "We can talk it through, right? Where are Rakasha and your mother? Maybe we could discuss it together, all four of us."
"They already know what's going on," Ruby murmured. "I... Can you come in?"
"Of course." I nodded as she stepped aside, letting me enter her spacious room.
