Scarlet turned sharply toward her mother, her eyes wide with apparent shock.
"What?" her mother asked. "Don't even think of leaving with them before they're done with their Trial. I will not have my daughter go through such unneeded danger."
"O-okay," Scarlet said, letting the matter pass. That had never been her concern in the first place. It was the mere fact that her mother even considered letting her go afterward that had surprised her.
Given how protective she had been these past few centuries, she could only imagine what Alex could have done to change her mind this much.
"Young man, tell me more about yourself. How did you come to be so good with Alchemy?" Scarlet's mother asked, steering their conversation.
Alex answered her question as well as he could, explaining how he had received a book when he was young, and then how he had gotten an Alchemy Master once he became an Immortal.
Thankfully, Feng Xianhei needed no more to be convinced that was all he had needed.
