Pearl felt his body grow lethargic all of a sudden, to the point where he thought he had been poisoned. He stepped back, his aura flaring. He was ready to pounce forward in a desperate attempt to fight off the White Tiger before him until his brother and grandpa could realize what was happening.
But the White Tiger's words quickly drowned his worries.
"It's alright. That's what it's meant to do," the White Tiger said. "Your body grew weak, didn't it?"
Pearl glared at the White Tiger while sensing the changes in his own body. After a moment, he nodded. "What is happening to me?"
"Your physical body was apparently too strong to take part in the trial, so this special artifact will make you physically weaker. Your physical strength and speed will fall back to the same level as your Qi."
Pearl narrowed his eyes and sent his senses through his own body, slowly coming to realize that the lethargy he felt was his muscles growing forcibly relaxed from their normal state.
