Having the blood from the ancestral bloodline pool made everything so much simpler. There was no longer any guesswork involved in figuring out which of the Bloodline Elements belonged to the Vermilion Birds, and which ones just happened to be part of the many beasts that had become part of the family through marriage in the past many hundred thousand years.
The Vermilion Birds themselves were a small enough family that it wouldn't have been as difficult for Alex had he tried, but it would have still wasted a month or two.
Now, with the progenitor's blood before him, he could be done in three days at most.
Learning the blood took Alex less than a day, as he had expected, and concentrating it took two and a half days, at which point he was done.
But he didn't tell anyone he was done. He wanted to use the blood himself first before anyone else had the chance.
