Veyra smirked as she playfully chided, almost looking like another version of Seris, "Be nice, Seris. Your father's heart might stop."
Seris giggled at her mother's silent taunt to her father, "If it did, I'd just restart it. His hall is literally beating anyway."
The Marquis closed his eyes for a moment and sighed in exasperation because in this abyss, the only thing he couldn't deal with was these two women whom he cared for and loved the most.
"…She truly inherited your tongue." He muttered wryly.
Veyra smiled serenely, a hidden danger lurking behind it, "You say that as though it displeases you."
Marquis Blood Fiend did not comment; instead, his gaze hardened as he looked at his daughter.
"Enough. Seris, this matter is important. Sit."
But Seris only clung tighter to her mother, her playful red eyes gleaming, not afraid at all with Veyra beside her.
