Chapter 1 - Prologue

In the beginning, there was chaos—not the biblical kind, but the interdimensional variety. Universes bumped into each other like drunk drivers at a cosmic intersection. Gods, demons, and bored wizards from fantasy realms had a nasty habit of plucking humans from Earth for their amusement. "Heroes" summoned to slay dragons, office workers reincarnated as slimes, truck drivers isekai'd into harems—it was all fun and games until the abductees started filing complaints.

Earth's leaders, tired of losing taxpayers to parallel worlds, convened in secret. The United Nations? Too slow. Instead, a shadow alliance of superpowers poured resources into the Inter-Dimensional Patrol, or IDP. Equipped with portal tech reverse-engineered from captured summoners, the IDP became the multiverse's traffic cops.

Leading them was Commissioner Zane Vortex, or "Z" as he preferred. No one knew his origins—rumors said he was born from a black hole's fart or something equally absurd. What was known: Z was the strongest entity across infinities. His powers? Sealed tighter than a miser's wallet, unlocked via "systems" that activated based on threat levels. He copied skills like a pirate bootlegging DVDs, improving them with his innate genius. And his personality? A walking stand-up routine, turning battles into roasts that broke villains' spirits.

Z's motto: "Justice with a punchline." The IDP's mission: Stop the summons, arrest the perps, and send everyone home with a stern warning and maybe a souvenir mug.

But as the patrols began, whispers of a greater conspiracy emerged. Ancient beings, jealous of Z's might, plotted from the shadows. The multiverse was about to get a whole lot funnier—and deadlier.
