For me, as for others, the conquest of our universe has always been secondary, something that had to be done to acquire sufficient resources and sufficient labor.
People's freedom, their contentment, and other things didn't matter. If we talked, everyone would die anyway. There was no point in thinking about everyone's lives beyond the bare minimum to avoid inconvenience.
