In a room on a third-rate apartment on the suburbs.
A man was looking at the mirror untying his necktie slowly. A typical asian faced with black hair and eyes, 170 centimeter tall and well proportioned body.
"On the first day of work I dropped the damn machine, there goes my whole month salary haha"
Klaus ridiculed himself in front of the mirror. He sat down on the couch and opened the television to past time. He kept changing channels as he turned it on news channel.
'The upcoming Clash of Civilizations is officially launching this New Year, get your new game capsules and experience a world full of adventures and magic'
Clash of Civilizations was first introduced to a small group of people a year ago, the company involved claimed that it was a real Full Immersive Virtual Reality Game and not the bogus that was released a few years ago. It was closed beta since 2020 and was then introduced again this year 2021 and would officially start next year.

Klaus checked the calendar on his phone.He then goes to the official website where they sell the said Virtual Reality Game.
"Goodness, its free?" Klaus immediately got suspicious and goes to the review panel and was shocked "The government will released it for free? What is this nonsense!" He never thought that those corrupt politicians would do this kind of thing. He immediately searched the online news channel for confirmations and what he read put a uneasy feeling to his heart.
"Other countries is also releasing the same thing" The further he read the further the uneasy feeling grows. Other people are also confused and anxious like him all over the world. Because people are scared of what they don't understand and they are not idiots who thinks like "Its free I'm so lucky" but the problem is its free for everyone in the world.
"What is government thinking? this will probably cause unrest on the whole world"
The government all over the world are trying to calm the people but its helpless, now that the information era is running and kicking various people are posting their own opinions and guesses on the internet causing more chaos to the world.
Klaus frowned and started to speculate many things like the end of the world and the great extinction. He could not help but think "I thought the zombies would be the first to start because of the pandemic... no no no stop thinking about these things"
Klaus then relaxed his mind to organized these information that he just learned. He first ordered a game capsule from the website and then gathered information about this new game Clash of Civilizations.
3 hours later...
Klaus took notes of important details and copied a guideline posted by the closed beta players. Basically there are 2 types of player, First a player can be on adventure mode travelling across worlds completing quests given by natives on the main world. And the lord mode where a player will be sent to a world and build his own territory from scratch. Not everyone could be a lord player, only those who have the talents related to it can be a lord. As for the talents it will be given to the players after starting the game, it is said that it replicates your own talent on real life to the game.
The information Klaus gathered are only basic knowledge and rumors. And for some reasons the closed beta players are keeping a close lip on the details. And for those "some reasons" he can only curse and envy them for not sharing. He made up his mind and decided to fully trust his gut and decided to prepare for this game.

Klaus checked the time and then cooked for himself and soon slept early to prepare for tomorrow.
Early in the morning.

Ring ring ring ring ...
After Klaus shut the clock he quickly prepared to go out. The direction he's going to is not work. The world is probably ending who's going to work and his whole month salary is basically gone due to the mess he made on work.
Klaus called a taxi and went straight to his parents house. On the way he saw many people protesting on the streets asking the government to explain what they are doing and because of that his originally 3 hours of travel extend to 5 hours trip.
'These people is so laid back, got so many free time to waste. As if the government official will pay attention to some rallying patriots who do nothing but scold and protest and now my time is wasted due to traffic.'
At the gate of an old house.
2:45pm
Klaus paid the taxi driver the expensive charge and went out of the taxi. He rubbed his aching butt and stretch his back to loosen some aching muscles and looked on the old house.
A two-story bungalow house with a azure color painted walls with a small garden of plants and a big gate. For him this simple house is his treasure it reminds him of his old grandparents.
He went straight past the gates and knocked the door thrice.
Knock knock knock...
Because the doorbell is broken for how many years Klaus decided to ring his lungs out in front of the door."Mom, Dad I'm home!"
After a few seconds his father Jonathan Rivera opened the door and said worriedly "Son, have you already learned the news?"
"Yes dad, I've already decided to play that game, I think a major event will occur on the day of release of that game"Klaus replied quickly to Jonathan with resolution and earnestly convince his father "Dad I think you and Mom should also play that game, just to be careful we would play as together if possible to avoid accidents. And by the way I will also invite my friends to play together." Klaus said walking to the kitchen as he remember his college best friends who call themselves professional players.
"Okay son, but you know that me and your mom is not very good at those games that you play but we'll try our best." Jonathan embarrassingly said to Klaus. Jonathan fully trust his son, many times that Klaus guess comes true since he was a child.
One scenario when they were going home, seeing a dark alley in the middle of the night and Klaus said he was uneasy on walking that road, they decided not to take that alley and circles back to the other side. Then tomorrow morning they got news that someone was robbed on that exact place and from then on Jonathan kept his trust on his son Klaus whenever possible.
"I'll try my best dad, I have this feeling that its not an ordinary game. I don't know why but I feel this is an opportunity"Klaus said unsure of his gut feeling to Jonathan.
"By the way dad where is mom?"Klaus asked as he open the refrigerator searching for food.
"Your mom is buying food for dinner, oh I will tell her that you are here."Dad said as he got on their room on the second floor.
"Dad tell mom to buy pizza on the way home, I will invite my friends later after their work." shouted Klaus as he prepared his breakfast and lunch together.
