Chapter 559 - Rain of Gold coins.

Coven was excited about the lengths that the King was willing to go through. With nine more coins to go.

King :

I would like to gamble myself. So I would like to ask. To do a coin flip if I win remove a coin, if you win I shall stop there.

Coven :

You're sly. But within my expectations.

Coven :

Call it heads or tails.

King :

Heads

Coven tossed the coin in the air and caught it before it landed. And when it was revealed it was a Head indeed.

Coven did it second time and the result was Heads.

A third time when Coven tossed the result was tails.

Thus removing two coins from the probability game.

Coven :

How did you find me.

The King stayed silent not giving in to Coven. Seeking free answers. Coven consistently pestered King for answer but he was adamant.

Coven :

Maybe I will consider removing a coin if you speak.

King :

Then make me an oath, oath maker.

Visible anger was seeing from his face. But Coven still smiled through the anger with an awkward smile. Balancing between anger and calmness.

Coven :

Let's call this off shall we. I'm no longer interested.

The response of the King was swift. As if he was waiting

King :

A God of Gambling and and Oaths is terrified to make a simple oath. Even when I threw my arms.

But Coven wasn't an idiot.

Coven :

Youre trying to get under my skin are you. Lets say it worked.

But he was still extremely prideful. And without saying anything he took a coin off the table without even listening to thr King.

King :

I would like to make some pacts to increase my luck.

Co en :

I assume you know how my pacts work the more greater the sacrifice the stronger the reward.

King :

For increased luck I would like to offer my left hand.

Coven :

Your hand is inconsequential and thus nothing happens. Immortal.

King :

I was just playing.

King :

I'll wager this watch, my wife had given me.

The King placed a watch his wife had gifted him during his anniversary. At that time watches were invented were large in size and were spring driven. But they were very prone to break. The watch that King had was similar to a conductor's watch. Which was not spring driven but quartz driven.

Coven :

It seems you have a lot of emotional attachment to this watch. Very well for this watch I can offer you a 13% favor chance.

King :

Wait! Before you do that I want you to meet someone. Someone interesting.

Coven :

If your asking then I want to meet him now.

The door opened and Jay walked in not even free from his duties. He came inside with the flashiest clothes he could wear. His outfit optimized for style over functionality.

He wore a two piece suit set and the outer suit was fully covered with reflective 24 karat gold. Polished to make it shinier. A white shirt inside and a bowtie to top it off.

King :

Meet my disciple.

Coven got up from his seat and shook both of his hands with him. And the smile on his face was beyond delighted.

Coven :

Never thought I would meet you after a millennium.

Meeting him was worth all the money.

The King was surprised by the delighted Coven.

King :

You know each other.

Jay :

I've never met him.

Coven :

You might now remember me it's been a millennium after all.

Let me help.

A millennium ago during the divine era. When Jay and McElroy had time travelled to the past. Another story from that era.

After completing their training with the Masters of Steel and Sand and continuing their adventure to the El Dorado.

The three of them Jay, McElroy and Era travelled together as one team.

Era had recommended a destination and when they reached they were greeted with a city with modern aesthetics. Everything was modern except it was under monarchial authority. It was the most modern city and behind it was the one stuck in time.

Era :

Welcome to the city of Perez.

Jay :

Is this another gimmick location.

Era :

Yes. Also that's one question down for the day.

Jay :

You can't do this that wasn't a question. Forget it I can't do this all day.

And once again without any proper identification they had to sneak their way in. By gently disabling the guards.

Inside the city for Jay it was something normal for once. Bit still after seeing familiar structures he had a surge of nostalgia hit him. As if he had returned rifbt where he belonged. Not in a village or an advanced Atlantis.

Jay's phone rang. It was a quest message.

New quest : Casino Royale.

Description :

Make the biggest Casino go bankrupt without violence.

Reward :

Increase affinity drastically with ?

Failure :

Do you really want to take the gamble.

Jay instead of sighing with almost every quest was kind of thrilled for this one.

Jay :

Mcelroy, let's go.

Mcelroy questioned Jay as he acted that he knew where to go

Mcelroy :

Where?

Jay :

Let's go Gambling!!!

Era :

Yeah!!!

Mcelroy :

Didn't you used to say you used to despise gambling?

Jay :

One should never gamble unless that have a 100% chance of winning.

Era :

You'll need some new treads for that then.

Jay :

Let's go shopping!!!

And with that they equipped new treads from the most expensive store. Which they were able to pay so handsomely that it helped them even through the angelic invasion.

With the stylish new clothes equipped. They had to make Era sit this one out. Even though she knows everything about the Casino and their shady practices. Her age was an issue. For they allow only adults with a certain amount of wealth to enter the casino.

AND who needs wealth when we have the expert Coin forger Jay. With appropriate clothes both of them entered like authority. And before them revealed the grand den of sin.

Neon and warm lights everywhere. Slot machines, table games, sports betting. Roulette wheels.

Jay :

Give us chips. Take this money.

With a few chips in their hand they headed to try their luck with the slot machines. Slot machines where they are less likely to get caught.

Jay sat at a machine and spent a few coins and spun the wheels of the machine. Though he lost them all. Using metal magic he got a feel of its working.

AND here the magic started. Jay would spin the wheels and manipulate it's gears using metal magic. And that's how he scored his first jackpot. He made Mcelroy sit at a different table and manipulated his slots and even he won money.

AND just to avoid suspicion he even rigged the games of others. After a few rounds of rigged slots the security swarmed the entire slot sections and closed them off.

Progress : 17%.

Mcelroy :

What now.

Jay :

We avoid card games. And double down.

There was a big money wheel. The wheel was made with a big giant hunk of metal. Guess what was closed now.

Progress : 30%.

They cashed in their winnings for the night and left the center only to come back the very next day this time at separate times and different outfits.

This time the duo raided the pachinko booths. And the next day they blocked their entry. The guards were stationed outside and prevented entry to just the both of them.

Progress : 37%.

Jay and Mcelroy brainstormed together how else can they cheat the system. And the best source of information was Era.

Jay :

The mission is to bankrupt that casino. Any ideas how can we do that. Without any violence.

Era :

Before you ask, Violence means no use of physical harm.

Jay :

That's it?

Era :

Yes.

Jay :

What about arson?

Mcelroy :

Maybe less murder.

Jay :

Bankrupting them. Hmm how can we do that. I have a few ideas.

1. A Grand Heist.

2. Passive loss

3. Structural damage.

Mcelroy :

It doesn't mean that the money should be ours. If they lose money that's enough.

Jay :

Is there any other way to get inside.

Mcelroy :

The entire buildings are made of concrete so every opening is a weak spot for me.

Jay :

If we can access their vault, we can deal a huge blow.

Mcelroy :

Instead of stealing what other choice do we have.

Jay :

Threaten them into lawsuits over their malpractices.

Mcelroy :

Whats a lawsuit?

Jay :

Finding politicians and threatening them to shut down the casino. Peaceful protest will take way too long.

Jay checked the progress in his phone

Progress : 21%

Jay was shaken by the progress going backwards. But it was understandable after all. The casino had raked that much money back. Making profits.

The term The House always wins is also true here. It is estimated that the house eventually takes in 80-90% percent of profits through their practices.

These losses were just a tiny blow that's all. What The duo needed to do was to give such a blow that they can never ever stand up again.

Jay :

Can we still get in touch with the paper magician she might help us to rig the card based games.

Mcelroy :

I was sitting at a blackjack table. Just to lose some money. And the card felt unnatural in my hands. It's like they were sturdy and strong but synthetic.

Jay :

They might be plastic cards. So using her is a no-go. Is there any plastic magician we should know of.

Era :

None.

Mcelroy :

I'll scan the building structure. And we'll soon know where the vault is. But only on one condition.

Mcelroy :

We won't take any money for ourselves.

A rain of coins started mid-air but not high to cause damage to anyone. Coins of pure gold glimmering as the light bounced off them. The sounds of coins falling onto the carpet was quiet. But when they struck other coins they made sound.

Jay :

Who needs money, when I am wealth incarnate
