(Michelle Lui's POV)
By the time I slipped into my Calculus classroom, my composure was hanging on by… maybe two neurons and a lip gloss wand.
Steven Sy telling an entire classroom he was courting me?
No.
No, no, no.
That was not normal.
That was not mild.
That was not ignorable.
That was soul-leaving-body, heart-doing-backflips, universe-glitching energy.
I chose the safest seat in the room — near the back, by the window — and pressed my hands together to keep them from tremoring.
I wasn't shaking.
Not technically.
I was just… vibrating with the force of a girl in a teenage body whose crush literally announced his courtship like it was the weather.
And the worst part?
I liked it.
Way too much.

(Rumors Follow Like a Shadow)
I could feel the stares before they landed.
"…is that her?"
"That's the girl from Physics Lab."
"No way Steven Sy just defended her."
"Lara was crying—"
"He's courting her?"
"Over Lara? Seriously?"
"She must be confident."
