"Alright," Kate said, checking her phone as Vince steered the car smoothly along the private campus road, "they're already at the café near the library."
Silence.
Then —
A slow, dangerous smile crept across Vince Kho's face.
"Good."
Jeff sighed immediately. "Why do you say that like a villain about to reveal a final form?"
"Because," Vince leaned back in his seat, adjusting the collar of his perfectly tailored coat, "this allows my entrance to achieve maximum psychological impact."
Kate didn't even look at him. "You're visiting a university, not storming a runway."
"I am always storming a runway, Kate."
Jeff shot him a glance through the rearview mirror. "You're storming public decency."
Vince ignored that entirely and instead inspected his reflection in the tinted window like a man preparing for battle.
Today, he was dressed deliberately.
No casual chaos.
