"A friend of mine who knows the real headhunter called to inform me that they had not received such a deal of late and the contract I signed... Is just a basic sample publicly available on the internet! Now the real headhunter has a grudge with us, saying we were spreading lies about them!" Raoul narrated with clenched fingers.
"So what happens to us now? Our money? The company?!" The old lady asked frantically. Like her granddaughter, she had also spent her money buying and throwing around to her friends, thinking it wouldn't be long till her son became one if the richest men in Axilla city. Now she could not help but worry about their future. They were no different from declaring bankruptcy.
Raoul shook his head to her questions. He had not thought of a way out, he could not even think at the moment. Because he had been so sure his problems would be solved with that one contract, he had not bothered to make other plans or preparation, now he had no clue of what step to take especially since he was broke.
"What about my movie? I would lose my role if Dad does not fulfill his promise" Roxanne pointed out anxiously. The role she had boasted about these few days had only being given to her because she had promised her manger and the director hat her dad was going to invest a certain amount into the movie production. Now if they know he has no more money, wouldn't they just give the role to someone else?
Hearing her words, Raoul became slightly angry but he tried not to show. His company was about to meet an end, yet here she was fussing about a lousy movie.
"Don't you have savings of your own? Just take them out and pay part the investment yourself. Before the shooting ends, I'm sure we'll be able to settle the rest" He suggested agitatedly.
"I... I have no money left" Roxanne guiltily reported.
A deep frown appeared on her father's face. He didn't need to be told what she had used the money for since the shopping bag she had returned with from the mall was still sitting on the table.
"Then borrow from your grandmother. Mother didn't I give you a few millions months ago to save? Just give them to Roxanne"
It was the old woman's turn to show a guilty look "There's none of it left, How long has it been? Did you assk me how I had been running the house? That's what has been taking care of the affairs of this house!"
Raoul's face grew red from anger. Almost Ten million was as lot to have been used on feeding and home care in a span of a few months. There was no doubt she had spent most of it on her social gatherings and clothing. He was aware of this but could not point it out since it was his mother.
"Then forget about the movie!"
"Father!" Roxanne exclusive surprised. Her eyes welled up and she bit her lips aggrieved. Simultaneously, her eyes landed on Suzy and she was taken over by anger.
"It's all Some people's fault! If they are just willing to help us, would we need to go through backdoor to sustain a collaboration with MX when we have a marriage deal with onee of their allies already!" Roxanne complained directly pushing the blame on Suzy and Gisele. At the mention of her words, Raoul and the Old woman were pulled into the same train of thought.
Raoul had maid that deal with Dragons Jade store which is one of the biggest jewelry stores under MX corporation. He had no idea that when he had asked to borrow that huge sum of money, his proposal had actually been passed to the Montero family directly and had also been signed by them, so he and everyone in Andres family had thought that he had made a deal with the General Manager over Dragons Store and that Gisele was married off to the old man too. If only they knew she was married to the legendary Devon Montero, then they would hate her even more for not sharing such wealth with them.
"Useless Trash how come you haven't met with your wench of a daughter?! Are you two colliding to destroy our family?" The Old woman was First to display her rage on Suzy.
This daughter-in-law of hers had never gained her favour right from the moment she stepped into this family. The hatred grew when her illegitimate granddaughter was brought along to leach off their fame and money.
"Scheming b*tch you must feel delighted that your daughter got married to that Old Manger right? Did she promise you a few Jewelries from his store and now you think of double crossing us?! Talk you shameless b*tch!" She marched to Suzy and gave her a tight slap. The harassment did not end there, she grabbed the woman's hair and pulled he up from the chair she was sitting then flung her to the ground. Grandma Andres was merely transferring her aggression from being duped to the poor woman.
"I've called the number already. The investigator made a mistake, it doesn't belong to Gisele but the Manager's real wife! I'll call a few more times till I get Gisele's number but don't worry I have my plans set already" Suzy wiped the blood on her lips and endured the pain shooting down her scalp as she hurried to explain.

A tinge of delight showed on Roxanne's face. The thought of Gisele being a measly concubine to am already aged man made her despaired heart elated. She could imagine the real wife punishing Gisele after hearing from Suzy.
"Don't waste your time calling! Didn't you go there the last time? Just go to the store and drag that ungrateful wench out! Also explain to the Director how heartless she is being, I'm sure he'll give her a round of scolding too"
These lots had forgotten Gisele was only married to whosever that man was, because they had failed to return the money they had borrowed. Even if they were shameless enough to meet the General Manager. They would be the ones to be arrested instead of it to end the way they had imagined.
Suzy too did not think of it like that because of the fairly good treatment they had given her the last time. She had gone to that store first and after throwing a huge tantrum, she was told the General Manager had gone for a meeting at MX Corporation, so she marched there. Surprisingly, once she entered the company building, a young man walked up to her and led her to wait at the hotel room she had met Gisele. With that she had assumed that the store many was an influential person in the company and had told the workers of the Andres family. This was also one of the reasons she resented Gisele, thinking her husband held her and the Andres family in high esteem.
There was no such thing as holding them in high esteem but it was only a coincidence that Devon's secretary had recognized her while walking out of the company's building. Knowing the kind of toxic relationship she had with Gisele, he had led her away before she had the chance to create a scene and expose the secret marriage of his boss to the public.
This Family's wishing thinking was surely higher than the stars themselves.
"What if Suzy can not persuade that girl? Who knows if she might have also used her beauty trap to stop the Manger from helping us? What would be our faith? Father what should we do?" Roxanne inquired slyly. She was merely pressurizing her father to make things difficult for Suzy, if things were difficult for Suzy then she would also go ahead to make things difficult for Gisele. That b*tch would have no resting time from now hence forth.
Raoul exhaled heavily "mother, I've made up my mind, I'll put the Ancestral Manor on mortgage with the bank to raise some money for now, also I'll sell as few shares from what I have" his heartached making those decisions but he had no choice.
"Son those Shares are too precious! You've lost Five percent already as collateral when you took that loan from Dragons Jade Store General Manger. if you sell any more of it those scheming shareholders will look for ways to take you off the CEO seat" she warned anxiously. Selling theirs shares threatens their position as largest shareholder in the company. How could she allow that?. They had already lost Five percent to Gisele's supposed husband, and they were yet to get them back! If only they could pressure Gisele into given them back immediately then they had more than enough to sell.
"I have no choice, besides I still won't be able to keep my Chairman position if I can't settle some of the company's issue. Chairman Chuck was willing to make some investment before, he just need a little more enticement. With the money I get I can settle things on his end and that could salvage the situation for the mean time but as for you_" He paused and turned to Suzy.
The look in his eyes showed he had no good plans for her.
