As the battle continued, the fear in Ryphonsus only grew stronger. He knew that this was no ordinary dragon, and that he was outnumbered in strength. This was a witch who held centuries of resentment against him. She almost killed him back when he went to fight with the so called 'traitors' at Trinity's house and now he will stand no chance against her. Trinity, he can kill within a minute... but Alexandra? She was a whole other level of power. If only he would be able to convince this witch to leave the dragon alone...
A sharp pain shot through his hind leg, as Dragonia's fangs sank into his flesh. He roared out and tried to bite back, but Dragonia only applied more force, which made him whimper in pain.
Letting him go, Dragonia aimed for his wings next, but Ryphonsus was waiting to be freed, and as soon as she let go, the black dragon sank his jaws into her back. Now Dragonia was roaring in pain.
It took a moment for Dorin's words to sink in. "What?"
"Look Pat- " "So you're telling me that Trinity has a chance of being pregnant? How? Forget how, you said she told you and you didn't stop her from coming here?"
"Pat..." "Why didn't you tell me before?" Now, Patrick's voice was slowly raising.
"Pat..." "We have to stop this fight..." "Stop! Listen to me!" Dorin grabbed his arm before he could walk away. "You have to understand Pat! If you walk out there, you yourself will give an opportunity to that black dragon to not only kill Rin, but also you. Please try to understand!"
"We will talk later... and you better hope that nothing happens to her, or..." Patrick sat back down, looking intently at the fight. How could Dorin allow this? Well, he will not only talk to her, but also Trinity regarding rules.
Another roar rang out, as Dragonia managed to scratch her opponent's lower belly. Freeing her back, she quickly managed to bite into the massive reptiles wing, as he desperately bit into the orange dragon's tail. Though pain shot up in her tail, Dragonia didn't let go of his wing bone, which were already broken. Instead she pulled with all her might, and soon, the large lizard was falling toward the ground, while she her jaws held on to one massive wing. He couldn't fly with only one wing, which was already injured.
The crowd gasped as the mighty 'knights' dragon fell with a loud thud in the middle of the arena, followed by his left wing beside him. For the first time in history of dragons, Ryphonsus felt so little, so insignificant.
Dragonia landed on all fours, right beside him. The crowd went silent. "Look everyone! Look at the mighty Ryphonsus!" Dragonia exclaimed. "The once mighty beast now is at my mercy. His crimes are known to all... and for those who don't know, he killed so many innocent humans and other magical creatures, including his own kind!" The orange dragon circled around the now human form of the black dragon.
"Look, I'm sorry! I did all that because I thought I was so strong I could get away with anything. I now know there is always someone stronger than you. Please Trinity, please forgive me! Give me one last chance to prove myself!" The former Dragon Lord begged.
Without batting an eye, Trinity continued, "If there is anyone here who feels that he deserves to live, or has anything to say, speak now!" Everyone stayed quiet. Being the leader of the dragons, he had done nothing but betrayed their trust. He made them work hard, and he had either killed or banished at least one dragon from each household. No one had the balls to say anything, back then, for fear of being killed.
The anger in their eyes were now visible. "Kill him." Someone shouted, and others followed in a rhythm. "Kill him, kill him, kill him...."
"You see Ryphonsus, no one wants you alive. Your rein will come to an end, and this day will always be remembered as the day the greatest feared dragon met his end by the hands of a teenager." Dragonia said, her now orange eyes told the Dragon Lord that the witch was now gone.
"I'll tell you a secret before I kill you; you thought Sabrina was the last oracle dragon, but you were wrong! The last oracle isn't dead. Though the fathers gene is strongest in a dragon child, the mother also passes her most important genetic info to her child, which means the last oracle is yet to be born." The Dragon Lord's eyes grew wide in shock, as Dragonia's claw ripped the man's heart out.
Everyone was now cheering. Trinity now stood beside a very dead dragon turned human, her hand holding his massive heart.
She was covered in scratches and blood oozing out of deep, open wounds. She let out a scream as she fell on her knees. Her scream immediately quietened everyone. Dorin ran to her side, followed by all her friends.
She missed her father, her fiancé, her friend, a woman who would have been her mother in law... and everyone who died at the hands of this monster.
"You did well, child!" Marcus said, as he approached a calm teenage girl. "All the dragons are waiting for you in the hall. You have to address them, as now, you are the new Dragon Lady."
Trinity stared at him, then remembered what Tyrone had warned her about Marcus. "Will you be there too?"
"No miss Grove; I'll be on my way... "
"Please Marcus! Everyone knows we wouldn't have been able to do this without your help. Please be there so I can at least properly thank you," Trinity pleaded.
"Very well."
A smile crossed her face.
Emeralda reached the hall and informed everyone that Trinity was on her way. As the girl entered, everyone bowed, which also reminded her of how they had bowed before her the morning after the battle. Marcus was at the mic, welcoming their new Dragon Lady.
