Chapter 57 - CHAPTER 56

"What?"

Everyone was staring at Trinity like they had seen a ghost. She felt a little odd, as all the gawking made her uncomfortable.

"Whaaat?" She asked again, lookin at Martha and Stacey, then at her mother and Emeralda.

"What was that?" Martha broke the silence.

"What?"

"Why did you just...you know... throw up?" Stacey asked, looking at Trinity like a police officer looks at a criminal who is hiding something stolen.

At her question, the young fire breather realized it wasn't normal for someone to just vomit, especially when they are as healthy as a horse.

Without another word, Martha walked up to Trinity, and placed her hand on her abdomen. Before Trinity could jump away, the older woman gasped, eyes wide open, staring at the girl she had helped raise. "You're pregnant?"

Stacey also gasped, then realized that the other two occupants didn't get surprised. "And you two knew about it?"

"Look Stacey, yes, I am pregnant and yes, I told my mom and I just told Em a second before you guys entered..." "What about me? And Martha? I thought we were all friends!"

"I was going to tell..." "and Dorin? You knew but didn't say anything to us? Even me?" Martha chimed in.

"Everyone chill! I was going to tell you all, but I didn't get the right time..."

"Does Elise know?" Martha asked.

"No, I haven't told her yet."

"Wait!!! Oh my God Trinity! You fought with the Dragon Lord while pregnant?" Stacey sudden question made the others realize she had not only put her life in danger but also her child's.

"Stacey, you're forgetting something; she's also a witch," Dorin said. "And I think we can talk about this later. We must eat first!" She added quickly.

No one spoke while eating. Everyone left after eating; without a word.

The sudden knock on the door woke Trinity up. She was on her bed, a blanket over her, her head placed on the pillow. The last thing she remembered was her mother patting her head slowly, telling her that everything will eventually turn out fine, and for her to go to sleep. Another knock at the door made her realize that it was already seven-thirty in the morning.

"Who's there?" She asked still groggy.

"Stacey. I just came to check if you were alright," came the reply.

"I'm fine. Thanks."

"Breakfast will start in half an hour, and today is the-" "Why don't you come in, and we'll talk," Trinity said, realizing that Stacey had more to talk about.

The door opened and in came the young girl, who was about her own age, her first friend in this world of dragons.

"What were you saying?" Trinity asked, slowly sliding off the bed.

"Oh, yeah, as I was saying... today is the opening of the new kindergarten, and... we were thinking that you should do the opening; you know... cut the ribbon kinda opening," Stacey said, in a pleading voice.

"Who's 'we'?" Trinity asked, as she flushed the toilet.

"The teachers and me."

"Ok. I think I can do that. What do you think I should wear?" Trinity asked, as she pulled two dress out of the closet.

"I think this one will look great," Stacey said, choosing a beautiful pale yellow dress with little orange flowers all over it.

As Trinity reached the kindergarten inauguration, she heard whispers. "What would we do now?"

"Maybe request the teacher to give them a break for some time?"

"We can talk to the new Lady...." "and tell her she made a mistake? I don't think so"

"What happened?"

Trinity's voice from behind made the group of women jump. They were totally speechless.

"Look, please don't be afraid. If I made a mistake, it's better to correct it now, then let it continue," Trinity said in a soft voice.

The woman who suggested telling her, gathered up her courage, and spoke, "We were just talking... and I think that school and breakfast starting at the same time will be.... inappropriate."

"I didn't think of that," Trinity muttered under her breath. "Thanks ...what's your name?"

"Eva."

"Thanks Eva. I'll think of something."

"What was that about?" Stacey whispered, as Trinity caught up to her.

"Eva just informed me that the school time clashes with breakfast time, so I have to come up with something so the young ones can have breakfast too," Trinity whispered back.

"I didn't think of that."

As Trinity cut the ribbon in front of several parents and onlookers, her mind raced with ideas. What could she do so that the baby dragons could eat and not miss school?

A roar of applause pulled her back from her thoughts.

"I would request our new Dragon Lady, Ms Trinity Grove to say something to out parents and children," Stacey announced.

As Trinity took the mic, an idea popped in her mind. She could just ask for advice from her people.

"Thank you Stacey, and all the teachers for the renovation of our preschool and kindergarten. I would like to thank all the parents as well for supporting the idea of our baby dragons education. Thank you children for listening to your parents and attending the first day of school," Trinity began her speech. "I wish our young ones a happy journey into the world of learning something new." Most parents cheered and clapped.

"It has been brought to my attention that I mistakingly set the breakfast and school time together, which means that the young ones haven't eaten breakfast..." she paused, looking around, as parents whispered amongst themselves. "Well, I'm in need of advice on what I should do... so if any of you have any suggestions, feel free to throw it my way," Trinity continued, looking around.

"Um... we could start school at 8.30am," came a man's voice.

"Or we could just have breakfast delivered to school for our children and teachers," came a woman's voice.

"I like both ideas... maybe we could do a little vote, all who want school to start at 8.30am, move to your left, and breakfast delivered to school, move to the right," Trinity said, adding, "and those of you who don't like either idea stay in the middle."

To all their surprise, more people stayed in the middle. Trinity had thought that both ideas were great.

"Well, I believe we have to think of something else. Do any of you have any suggestions?" Trinity asked the middle group.

"In my opinion, school should start at nine in the morning, so children can get enough time in the morning for eating; because we all know that children take their time eating!" Said an elderly woman, as the others in the middle agreed.

Trinity looked around and the others also nodded in agreement, making their way to the middle.

"Well, it's decided than, that school will start at nine from... I guess today. Right now, we have to all go eat something."

Everyone nodded in agreement, and waited for their leader to go first.
