Chapter 39 - Who are you?

Smooth and calm rythm and blues music flood the sound of Aarion's home.

The warm and hot smells of sweet and fresh breakfast filled the air.

Zoom

In a blue flash, Marcus appears inside of Aarion's room, in front of his closed door. He runs over to Aarion's bed and jumps on it.

"Wake up, wake up," Marcus singed as he jumped on the bed happily.

In a blue flash he appears at the foot of the bed frame and stood there.

Aarion chuckles and then slowly sits up in his bed, facing Marcus.

"Woah, you're quite lively," he says and Marcus smiles. "Magic! I wanna see!" He exclaims.

Aarion smiles and holds up his right hand, lightly waving it. "Papilio," he whispers and grey butterflies appear and begin to swirl around the room.

They fly around Marcus, and he embraces them joyfully, finding them wonderful.

The butterflies then disappear.

Marcus then holds his left hand out with a smile.

His palm begins to glow blue, while blue sparks fluttered around his hand. Aarion begins to stand looking at Marcus with a look of concerned curiosity.

Marcus's hand sparks and blue lines begin to form in front of his hand.

They suddenly dissipate as Marcus is startled by someone waking into the room. It's Xavin.

"You're up," Xavin says and Aarion nods, smirking.

"Yeah. And uh," he sniffs, "You slept on the bed with me right?" He asks and Marcus looks back and forth at them both.

"I'm only asking 'cause…you know, when someone falls asleep with you, you'd expect them to awake with you as well," he says.

Xavin blinks astoundingly and he scoffs with a nervous smile.

"I woke up early to buy groceries and make breakfast. You know.. to thank you for letting me stay here," Xavin says sincerely.

Aarion sighs before he sits back down on his bed. He looks down, making his dreadlocks cover his face before he shakes them out the way and looks back up.

"Yeah, uh, no problem," he says.

"I'm hungry!" Marcus yells, before he run pasts Xavin, rushing downstairs to the kitchen.

"Uh, yeah, the food is ready, so. Yeah… come down whenever," Xavin says awkwardly before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.

"Huh…" Aarion wondered, "Instead of buying groceries to make breakfast, he bought groceries and made breakfast," he chuckles with a soft smile.

In Clairwood, deep in the towns forest is the house of the Secret Coven of Magus.

Harmony is in the kitchen cutting, onions and cilantro, while Jaden stood over the sink watching dishes

"Kristen is coming back from Florida tonight," Jaden begins, almost done with the dishes. "Did he find him?" Harmony asks,

"Nah. We been searching for Alex for years. I think it's time to call it quits, it's not like he wasn't the one who choose to leave," Jaden says and Harmony scoffs, cutting the vegetables even faster.

After a few moments of silence, Jaden looks up.

"Uh, Harmony," He says, worriedly. She didn't respond, she continued cutting the vegetables with fierce, heavy cuts.

"Harmony!"

"What?" She yells out, placing the knife on the cutting board and abruptly turns around to Jaden.

Jaden steps aside from in front of the sink, and Harmony steps closer, getting a closer look out the window above the kitchen sink.

"What the fuck?" She whispered.

They both look out the window and see a group of witches in dark clothing holding their hands out and whispering incantations.

"Ah… Agh!!" Jaden yells out. He places his hands on his head and screams out.

He is then magically pulled to the foyer, feet away from the front door and Harmony follows him.

"Jaden wha-" Harmony begins but she is then brought down to her knees alongside Jaden and begins to scream out in pain.

Boom!

The front door bursts open and at least a dozen witches enter the home, chanting an incantation.

The group separates and stand in two lines near the walls, making a walkway for someone else to enter the house.

They then stop chanting, and the pain spell placed on Harmony and Jaden ceases, though they're still on their knees.

There, a tall slim figure, in an ancient, but well put emerald cloak, with a gold mask covering their entire face walks in.

The figure pulls their left hand out of the cloak, and with it came out a wooden black torch with a green flame lit at the top.

The figure inhales deeply, before the flame dissipates into emerald embers, along with the torch.

"Margaret Wiremu, John Bello. I've come to retrieve my scions,"

"They're gone!" Jaden yells. "And if you don't leave, the Secret Coven of Magus will end you,"

The woman in the mask gasps. "That coven's last generation of witches died off over four hundred and twenty years ago! Unless," she steps closer.

"Yes… you are a Grant Witch. Descended from the Aashierah," she says staring at Harmony.

She then steps back and sighs, holding her right hand up. The witches surrounding them all begin to walk out the house, under her command.

"I'll be damned, if my sisters were to come after me, simply because I killed you," She says before turning around, walking away.

Harmony quickly stands, "You're Ms. Bello, aren't you?" She calls out, asking the woman.

The woman stops and turns around slowly, her torch is back in her hand and the emerald flame is bright and tall.

"I am, the Eldritch Queen," she enunciates and a bright green portal appears behind her. She walks backwards into it, disappearing.

Back in Manhattan.

Aarion walks down the staircase, in a black hoodie and baggy grey jeans.

He enters the kitchen and see Marcus and Xavin eating at the table. He walks over and looks down at an untouched plate, and grabs a piece of bacon.

He takes a bite and smiles, "Mmm, this is good," he says muffled, before swallowing his food.

"Marcus, if you want, eat my food," Aarion says readying to leave the kitchen.

"I gotta go hurry and get you enrolled in school somehow," he says rushing out the door.

Outside,Aarion opens his car door, and starts it, driving away.

Back In Clairwood, Aiyana is in her very own bar. Shes behind the counter along with two other bartenders.

Her bar is at least the size of four dining rooms and besides the sitting areas, there's a a dart board and a pool table that entertains customers.

A man in a black leather jacket then sits at the counter in front of across from Aiyana.

"What Can I do for you?" Aiyana asks, focused on wiping off a glass.

"Well, first, you can at least acknowledge such a fine creature as myself," the man says with an accent, smugly.

Aiyana stops wiping the glass and turns her focus to the man. Her eyes widen in shock as she puts the glass down.

"Leonidas Bickel, one of the OG vampires," she says and he chuckles.

"Actually, it's Belmont. Living for nearly two thousand years and keeping the same last name is dangerous. Wouldn't you agree?" He asks with a smirk.

"Why the hell are you in my bar?" Aiyana asks. Leonidas chuckles. "To thank you. The Belmont's were incomplete, now we're not," He explains but Aiyana scrunches her face in confusion, not understanding.

"My sister, she has been brought back to us. I assume the person who killed her brought her back…" he says.

Aiyana blinks uncontrollably, "Aarion… he…" she falters.

"Um, your sister's name is Noelle right. Tell her I'm sorry, and I hope it's no bad blood now that Aarion brought her back," Aiyana says confidently.

"Of course not, and her name is Elise Belmont. Actually, she wanted to invite the most powerful family of witches to her wedding. If they'd like to come," he elaborates.

Aiyana chuckles with flattery, "We would but, we're not a complete family right now, it's just not the best time," she adds.

Leonidas nods, "Well, à la prochaine fois," He says in French, before standing and leaving.

Aiyana watches him leave the bar, and immediately pulls out her phone to call someone.

Back in Manhattan

Aarion walks out the main doors of River East, an elementary school in Manhattan. He walks to his car and enters it, immediately pulling from his pocket, a flip phone.

He presses on a number a puts the phone up to his ear.

"Hello? Vannesa?"

"Thank you for forging Marcus's birth certificate. It worked.

"Yeah, he starts next Monday,"

"Alright, let's hope I'm not calling you for help anytime soon. Bye,"

Aarion ends his call with her, and starts his car, heading back home.

He listens to 'I wanna be down' by Brandy, lightly rocking side to side as he drive.

Then the song suddenly begins to glitch, and his car stops in the middle of the road.

"Aw, hell nawl," Aarion says with his face scrunched, in irritation.

His car then suddenly starts back up, however the wheel moves on its on.

Aarion breaths heavily, sitting back in his seat as his car drives itself, beginning to panic.

It then parks in front of an alley and the door abruptly opens before his car turns off.

Echoing whispers call out to Aarion, flooding his mind.

He then gets up and out the car and the door closes behind him.

He follows the whispers into the alley and approaches a door in the middle of the alley. It's connected to no wall, but it swings open, and Aarion follows through.

Slam!

When he enters, the door closes shut behind him.

Suddenly a light turns on, and there it's an old man sitting in a chair at a long table.

The room is small, and still quite dark. Aarion looks at the old man, frightened. He feels the man's power. It ancient and strong.

"What the hell is this?" Aarion asks with fear, stepping back closer to the door.

The old man chuckles, "Amazing, a first born Wiremu fears me," he goaded.

Aarion's back touch the door and he moves his hand around to grab the door handle. He then looks down to see that the entire door has disappeared.

"The fuck," He exclaims.

"Sit, Wiremu. I did not call to fight you, never. Though, as you are now I'd surely win," the man croaks. Aarion then holds his head up fiercely and walks over to the chair across from the old man and sits.

For a moment, it's silent. The man then tilts his head.

"You… don't know me?" He asks.

Aarion scoffs, "Oh, I forgot to ask. Who are you?" He says sarcastically.

"But you've met the Benoit," the man says. Aarion squints his eyes. "Xavin?"

The old man then pulls back and sighs. "I see… Nevermind then,"

"You are Aarion Wiremu,"

"Williams," Aarion blurts, correcting

"My name is Jellal Bello, son of Lauryn Bello," He introduces.

"I called you hear to speak with a version of you that I thought I knew," He says and Aarion scrunches his eyebrows.

"But, nevertheless, you need to know our history," He adds.

Aarion sits back in his chair with a calm expression. "I agree. So, indulge me," said Aarion.

Jellal smirked before he began to elaborate.

"Thousands of years ago, long before the first coven, your coven, there was another. Nine women received aid from a cosmic entity, they received magic," he says with a smile.

"The Cloaked One is a … cosmic entity?" asks Aarion. Jellal lightly chuckles.

"Cloaked One? I didn't say that was his name. But yes, he is one of the highest ranking cosmic entities. I believe he's the highest," Jellal says.

"Cosmic entity?" Aarion chuckles with a scoff. "Sounds like bullshit," he says

"So does witches, but here we are," Jellal says and Aarion inhales, defeated.

"The Cloaked One, is the very embodiment of magic. His true name is Magi. We believe that before he came here, he battled in an intergalactic war. And so, when he taught ma-… sorcery to the Daughters, his only wish was for them was to spread magic across the planet,"

"Okay stop," Aarion interrupts, "Just tell me about the primordial eye, thanks," he rests his arm on the table.

"Magick's third eye?" Jellal furrowed his eyebrows. "It's located in his temple,"

Aarion eyes widen, "What?!" He exclaims. "The temple he taught the witches?" He asks

"No. His temple. That was a lair in a cave. Magick's temple is in our kingdom," he says and Aarion face scrunches

"That's right, Magick gifted us his realm and created a home for all supernaturals, but really witches. He left the eye in his temple, and if I remember correctly the temple isn't to far from the city," Jellal elaborated.

"Take me there now," Aarion demands. He stands up. "Please, I need it," He pleads. Jellal blinks solemnly.

"I would without hesitation, but I can't. The only way to go to the Realm of Magic is through the Guardian, the Key, and the Door. Or rather the portal, they called him…."

"If you had the portal, you'd be able to go there whenever, as he can go to the realm and back without the key and the guardian. But, Xenos hasn't been seen in hundreds of years," Jellal explains.

Aarion is taken a back, and a concerned and confused expression rises on his face. "Xenos…" He whispers and Jellal tilts his head, "Is that name familiar to you?" Jellal asks.

"I don't think so…" Aarion blinks and looks at the desk, dazed.

"Xenos… Xenos Wiremu… son of Magus" Aarion says, more like a speculation.

Jellal holds his head up high with a smirk, "Yes… what else?" He asks Aarion. Aarion looks at him then looks away again, blinking.

"He is the Portal… but even more, by the Cloaked One's decree, he is the King of Witches…" He says, intoned.

He then looks back up at Jellal, "How do you think you know that?" Jellal asks him. Aarion scoffs, "I don't fucking know…. I mean, Magus soul was apart of me for a while so… maybe I just know some of the things he do," Aarion answers.

Jellal nods slowly before opening his mouth,

"Our King, along with his love was cursed two thousand years ago by a shaman. A human who learned magic from Magus, he cursed the King and his love to reincarnate for eternity. Dying whenever one them realize their love for the other, just to repeat it again. The last life I recorded for Xenos was over four hundred years ago. Back then, he was Aerys, the Black Wizard… Now, does that information sound familiar to you?" Jellal asks, raising his eyebrows.

"Hell no, but… that thing with the curse sounds terrible. I feel sorry for him and his lover," Aarion says.

"That's it? Just sorry?" Asks Jellal, with a raised eyebrow. Aarion scoffs, "Uh, am I supposed to feel more?" He chuckles. "Look, just tell me this history lesson is over. You bummed me out by telling me that I can't get the eye, so I wanna leave," Aarion mentions, honestly.

Jellal nods and lightly says, "Hmm,"

"You may leave, Mr. Wiremu," Jellal says and Aarion quickly stands.

"It's Williams," Aarion corrects yet again, as he pushes his chair in. He turns around and heads for the door.

"The three Aasheriahs who aren't apart of your coven are the Bellos, Cadstones, and the Benoits," Jellal says and Aarion stops at the door to listen. As he finishes Aarion opens the door, speed walking out and to his car.

He gets in his car and sits down, sighing.

Flash

Flash!

Aarion blinks, and everytime he does he sees something. Glimpses of a moment in time.

"A cave?" He asks himself.

Flash

Flash

Again, Aarion sees something. In the glimpses, he sees a large, dark cave with carvings all over the walls. His eyes suddenly widen.

"I remember," He says.
