The Omega's jaw tightened, knuckles whitening as he yanked his hands free, his movements sharp and filled with restrained fury.
His eyes, usually serene, now burned with a cold, seething rage as he turned his face away.
"Did I not tell you," he hissed, each word clipped, "not to become your father?"
The man only let out a long, heavy sigh. Instead of arguing, he closed the space between them, sliding his arms around the Omega's slender frame from behind.
His hold was firm, almost protective, as he buried his face against the delicate curve of his shoulder.
His voice softened, but the weight in it was undeniable. "But isn't that what you want?" he murmured, "For me to reign over this realm… just like him?"
Tears spilled from the Omega's bloodshot eyes, tracing hot paths down his pale cheeks, his anger burning so fiercely it seemed to consume every corner of him.
