That same morning, Eliott sat lazily in his office, working as though nothing had happened the night before. Alan's clumsy attempt to turn the public against him and Alex didn't trouble him in the slightest — after all, Alan was only helping him dismantle Priceless sooner than he'd planned. Since the man wanted a war, Eliott was more than happy to be his opponent. He knew that pathetic post couldn't truly damage Alex's reputation; they had evidence to refute the nonsense he was spreading, and of course, he was there for his wife should things ever get out of hand. If anything, Alan lashing out publicly saved Eliott the trouble of manufacturing a pretext — the man was handing him every excuse he needed to finish Priceless off cleanly.
As he thought of Alex, a smile crept onto his face — and a second later his mood lifted higher still when his phone rang, his pretty future wife's beaming face lighting up the screen.
"Hey, honey, what's up? Missing your husband?"
