I opened my eyes and looked around. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and I was in my bed. I yawned, stretched, and got out of bed. I went to the bathroom, took a shower, and got dressed. I went downstairs and had breakfast. I then went back upstairs and opened up the box. I saw that the world I had created was still there, but it was different.
Pangea, the world I had created, was currently empty with no signs of life. I had yet to populate the world with single-celled organisms or any biological lifeform for that matter, which was currently the next stage, but in the meantime, I wanted to explore the world.
I opened the box and entered the world. I found myself in an empty field, surrounded by nothing but grass. I looked around and saw that there was nothing in sight. I looked up and saw that the sky was a beautiful shade of blue. I noticed that the sun was missing. I took a deep breath and smelled the fresh air. I looked at the ground and saw that it was covered in grass. Grass, grass and more grass was all that greeted me, but the sight before me was immaculate. Although there were no animals or any lifeforms running around, it still had a certain beauty to it. The horizon before me stretched, and in the distance I could see a small river between a few hills.
"Thomas, the world is beautiful, but it is also empty. It is time to start populating the world with life."
"Right, Benny. I know that. But I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the world before I start populating it."
I spent the rest of the day wandering around the world, exploring all the different areas. I eventually came across a large body of water, a giant ocean that stretched out as far as the eye could see. The water was a deep blue and it sparkled under my lamps light. I sat down on the shore and watched the waves crash against the rocks. I looked out over the vast ocean and felt a sense of calm wash over me.
The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing. I could hear the sound of the water lapping against the rocks and the sound of the wind blowing through the trees.
"Benny, can you give me an overview of Earth's early environment?"
"The first step is the formation of the atmosphere. The atmosphere is composed of a mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. The atmosphere is necessary for the development of life. Fortunately, you created the world with the building blocks for life to thrive."
I paused for a moment, taking in the beautiful sight. "I see. Did the world take my intuition into consideration when forming the atmosphere?"
Benny chuckled. "Yes, the atmosphere of your new world is very similar to the one on Earth. It's composed of 78% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, and 0.04% carbon dioxide. It also contains traces of other elements."
I smiled. "Perfect. That's exactly what I wanted. So the box of dimensions takes into account my very thought process and experience. I guess that also explains how the first world came about. It does feel similar." I felt a tinge of sadness at remembering the old world I had failed to protect.
"Yes. It does take your thought process and experience into account. The first world was created from your imagination and knowledge, and the Box of Dimensions took it from there. It did the best it could to make your vision a reality," Benny said.
I looked out at the ocean and smiled. "I guess that's why it was so realistic. The Box of Dimensions really did an amazing job."
Benny laughed. "Yes, it did. And it will continue to do so. With your help and guidance, this new world will be even better than the last one."
I smiled and nodded. "I hope so."
I looked out at the ocean and watched the waves crash against the shore. The rhythm of the water made me all types of positive emotions but I was starting to feel a bit tired so I took some time to meditate.
"I will use this time to practice my fortitude as well. I need to get stronger, both physically and mentally." I said.
"Good idea, Thomas. That's the perfect way to use this time. I'm sure you'll be able to get stronger in no time." Benny replied.
I closed my eyes and began to meditate. I cleared my mind and focused on my breathing. I felt a great sense of calm wash over me and I began to relax.
I stayed in the meditation position for hours. The light began to dim partly because it was automatic and the sky turned a beautiful shade of orange and red. The lamp managed to mimic a realistic setting sun. I opened my eyes and looked at the sunset. It was beautiful. I watched as the light slowly sank and the sky turned a dark shade of blue. When I looked up, I noticed the sky devoid of any light whatsoever. There were no stars.
"Thomas, you must create the sun and the moon. The first step is to create the sun and then the moon will follow."
I got up and walked to the shore. I took off my shoes and enjoyed the sensation of the ground between my feet. I looked up and saw the sky. I concentrated and used my power to create the sun.
I closed my eyes and pictured the sun in my mind. I pictured it as a bright yellow star, burning with intense heat. I could feel the heat of the sun on my skin, and I could feel the energy of the sun flowing into me. I opened my eyes and saw the sun in the sky. I smiled and felt a sense of pride. I had created the sun.
Next, I needed to create the moon. Since the lamp was fully off, I decided to magnify my eyes in order to see the night sky. I looked up at the dark sky and saw nothing. I concentrated and used my power to create the moon.
I closed my eyes and pictured the moon in my mind. I pictured it as a bright silver orb, reflecting the light of the sun. I could feel the coolness of the moon on my skin, and I could feel the energy of the moon flowing into me just as I had with the sun. I opened my eyes and saw the moon in the sky. It was bright and beautiful. I smiled and felt a sense of accomplishment. I had created the moon.
I could feel the connection between the sun and the moon, and I knew that I had done well. I had created a proper solar system. The sun and the moon were in perfect harmony, and I could feel the energy of the two celestial bodies. I knew that I had created a perfect system that would last for millions of years.
"Thomas, you have created a great work of art. The sun and the moon are in perfect harmony, and the energy of the two celestial bodies is palpable. You have done a wonderful job." Benny said.
I smiled. "Thank you, Benny. I'm glad that I was able to do something right."
As I stood on the beach, I could see the sun rising in the east and the moon setting in the west. I had meditated for so long that the sun was now rising while the moon was setting, giving off a beautiful pink and orange glow. I took a deep breath and smelled the salty air. I could hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. I could feel the sand beneath my feet. I could taste the salt in the air.
"Wow. This is amazing." I said.
"Yes, it is." Benny replied.
I sat down on the beach and watched the sunrise. 'What should be my next step, I wonder?' I thought to myself.
"The next step is to create the lifeforms on this planet," Benny replied.
"That makes sense. I should probably start with the single-celled organisms just as planned," I said.
"Correct. The first step is to create the single-celled organisms, then move on to the multicellular organisms, and then the plants and animals."
"Okay. Let's get started," I said. "What is the first step to create the single-celled organisms?"
"The first step is to create the organic molecules that are necessary for life to exist. These molecules include amino acids, nucleotides, and lipids. These molecules are the building blocks of life. Once these molecules are created, they can be combined to form proteins, nucleic acids, and cell membranes. If you want your world to be as realistic as Earth, it is important to build everything from scratch."
"Okay. How do I create the organic molecules?" I asked.
"There are two ways to create organic molecules. The first is to use the energy of the sun to create the molecules from scratch. This is called abiogenesis. The second way is to use the energy of the earth to create the molecules. This is called biogenesis. The first method is more difficult than the second, but it is more likely to lead to a realistic world." Benny replied.
"I'll use the energy of the sun. It will take longer, but it will be worth it in the end. I don't want to take any shortcuts." I said.
"Very well. The first step is to create the molecules from scratch. You can use the energy of the sun to do this. Start by creating the amino acids. These are the building blocks of proteins." Benny said.
"Alright. I'll start by creating the amino acids." I said.
I closed my eyes and concentrated on the energy of the sun. I could feel the energy flowing through me. I could feel the energy of the sun in my chest. I focused on the energy of the sun and the organic molecules I was trying to create.
"Thomas, it is time to create the first step of the amino acids. You need to create the molecules that will form the amino acids. These molecules include carbon dioxide, water, methane, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide." Benny said.
"Alright," I said.
I concentrated on the energy of the sun and created the molecules I needed. I could feel the molecules forming in the air around me. I opened my eyes and saw that the molecules had been created. They were floating in the air around me.
"Man, this is draining. It's only the beginning and yet I'm already feeling it." I said.
"Thomas, it is important that you rest after each step. You need to make sure that you don't overexert yourself. It is also important to make sure that the organic molecules that you create are stable. If they are not stable, they will not survive long enough to combine and form the proteins, nucleic acids, and cell membranes that are necessary for life to exist." Benny said.
"Alright," I said. "Time for a short break."
