The news faded in the background as I focused myself on the diamond ring on my finger. Am I really engaged with Greg?
It was two in the morning. While the chaos ensued at the party, Gregory and I left the venue.
"I'll take care of everything," Gregory was catching his breath. He never once looked me in the eyes. "You go home and rest." Before I could say anything, he flagged down a taxi. And here I am in my hotel room, contemplating everything that happened.
I got the island. Oh I forgot, my birthday ended just few hours ago. I never got to celebrate.
My phone rang. It was Leon.
"Hey....." I answered, my voice trailing off.
"I tried to call you all day. Happy Birthday, Missy.... and congratulation on your engagement." He sounded excited at first until his last statement.
"Yeah, thanks?"
