Jun Mo Xie smiled, his gaze holding a quiet intensity. Then, with a knowing glint in his eyes, he spoke again.

"Xue Yan, have you ever wondered why, after all these years, no other Xuan Beast has ever reached the Venerable realm… except for you?"

Mei Xue Yan's breath hitched—not at his question, but at the way he spoke her name so intimately, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. A soft blush crept across her cheeks.

"Y-Young Master Jun… please don't call me that so casually…" She murmured, her composure wavering.

Jun Mo Xie chuckled, clearly enjoying her rare moment of fluster. "Now that's adorable. But aren't you focusing on the wrong thing here?"

"Ehh? But—"

"Come on," He interrupted smoothly, leaning in slightly. "I know the life cycle of Xuan Beasts. You may live for centuries, but before taking human form, if you fail to break through, your life ends there. And once you do take human form… it's like being reborn. If we count it that way, you're probably only two or three years older than me, aren't you?"

His smirk deepened. "So tell me, would you rather I call you by your name… or should I call you 'Grandma' instead?"

Mei Xue Yan's expression froze. Then her fingers twitched. Then her jaw clenched.

If he weren't so outrageously strong, she might have thrown him to the ground and pummeled him senselessly.

She took a slow, deep breath, forcing herself to ignore his infuriatingly smug expression. No. She would not let him get under her skin. Instead, she focused on his question, pushing aside the urge to strangle him.

Because despite his playful teasing, there was something deeper in his words… something that made her heart waver.

But even after a few minutes, she didn't get any answer, raising her to look at him for the answer.

Jun Mo Xie smiled, though there was a glint of sharpness in his eyes. "Heh… let me tell you, Xue Yan. This isn't just some coincidence—it's the result of a carefully orchestrated scheme by the Three Holy Lands… and the Misty Illusory Manor."

Mei Xue Yan's breath caught. This time, there was no mistaking the shock in her eyes. "What?! Even the Misty Illusory Manor is involved?"

Jun Mo Xie reached out, his fingers lightly brushing over hers before settling atop her hand. A reassuring tap—steady, warm, grounding.

"Yes. The reason your people have been unable to advance beyond the peak is because the method to cultivate beyond Level 11 was deliberately kept from you. The elders who were sealed away, supposedly guarding against the Nine Nether… they were the key. And the truth was hidden so flawlessly that no one in Tian Fa ever even suspected it."

Mei Xue Yan trembled. For the first time, her composure wavered, her eyes flickering with the weight of realization.

Centuries of decline… and now, at last, she understood why.

Jun Mo Xie let the silence stretch, giving her the time she needed to absorb the truth. Then, with a quiet sigh, he continued, his voice gentler.

"You… you are the exception. The one anomaly in their carefully laid plan. Somehow, despite everything stacked against you, you reached this height without the so-called proper cultivation method. Maybe it's your bloodline, maybe something even greater… but whatever the reason, your very existence terrifies them."

He leaned in slightly, his gaze holding hers captive. "And yet, despite knowing how ruthless they are… you've been too soft on them, Xue Yan. All in the name of the War for Seizing the Heavens. But tell me, how long can kindness hold back a blade aimed at your people's throats?"

A shadow passed through his expression, his voice dipping into something dangerously quiet. "They will stop at nothing to see Tian Fa destroyed. You know that, don't you?"

Here's a refined version that keeps the emotional depth while making it more romantic, teasing, and heartfelt:

Mei Xue Yan couldn't hold it in any longer. Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears before crystal-like droplets slipped down her cheeks, silent yet heavy with emotion.

Why?

Why does it have to be this way?

Everyone was preparing for the Battle for Seizing the Heavens. Everyone was supposed to fight for the same cause—for the survival of the mainland and its people. Then why… why this betrayal?

Why would they turn against their own allies?

Killing me… wiping out Tian Fa… wouldn't that only weaken the forces that stand against the true enemy?

She clenched her fists, her mind reeling with the cruel reality she had just uncovered. It was senseless. It was maddening.

And yet… it was real.

A warm hand suddenly rested atop her head. A gentle, steady touch.

"You're too soft, Xue Yan." Jun Mo Xie's voice was neither mocking nor scolding—just a quiet understanding. A knowing smile played on his lips as he ruffled her hair slightly. "And maybe… that's why I like you so much."

Mei Xue Yan's breath caught. The words, spoken so easily, yet so sincerely, sent a different kind of warmth through her.

Jun Mo Xie sighed and wiped away the lingering tears on her cheek, his fingers lingering just a second longer than necessary. "You're too kind for your own good… but that's who you are. And I won't ask you to change that."

His smile turned softer, yet there was an unshakable resolve beneath it.

"That's fine. If you hesitate to raise your sword, then I'll be your blade. If you can't bring yourself to strike them down, then I will. I'll stand in front of you, cut down anyone who dares to lay a hand on you, and ensure that no one takes away what's mine."

Mei Xue Yan's breath hitched at his words. "W-What do you mean—?"

"You." His voice was deep, unwavering. "You belong to me, Xue Yan. And I always take what I want."

Before she could react, he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against her forehead. The warmth of his lips sent a shock through her, making her entire face turn red.

Jun Mo Xie chuckled, clearly pleased with her reaction. "You can try running, but you won't escape, my dear little Xue Yan~."

Mei Xue Yan's mind was in chaos, but before she could regain her composure, he stood up and stretched, looking far too carefree for someone who had just turned her world upside down.

"Well, I suppose that's my cue to leave," He said with a grin. "See you soon, Little Xue Yan."

And just like that, he disappeared, leaving Tian Fa and returning to Tian Xiang City, leaving only the lingering warmth of his presence behind.

Mei Xue Yan remained frozen in place, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

For the first time in a long time, she had no idea what to do.

----

In a corner of Tian Fa, a group of figures had gathered, whispering among each other.

"Did you see that?"

"Yeah. That senior is so young."

"Not that you idiot! Big Sis... she is crying and blushing."

"Yes, you're right."

"Have you ever seen her behaving so shyly? I've never seen it in my entire life."

"What could have that boy said to Big Sis to cause her to blush?"

The seven Xuan Beast Kings were observing everything from the sidelines and discussing slowly. Even though they didn't hear anything but they could still think about things from their perceptions and thinking abilities.

But it was their bad luck as Mei Xue Yan was feeling very embarrassed and hearing their words gave her a reason to take out it on them.

She flicked her hand sending all of them flying away to hundreds of meters, destroying a part of Tian Fa forest before disappearing.

Mei Xue Yan suddenly felt that she was being loved and taken care of in that split second. And, a surge of happiness took her over!

Even if his words were just empty words but they still instilled a feeling of security in her heart.

This feeling was completely new for her.

She had never felt this way in her entire life!

Moreover, her Xuan strength had already reached the pinnacle of the world. So, who could've even gotten a chance to make her feel like this?

However, these feelings suddenly emerged in her heart at this time. And, she had been left to feel enchanted and content as a result. But, this warm and tumultuous feeling of happiness was also accompanied by a faint yet bitter sensation. It seemed as if she was too reluctant to part with this feeling…

She was not made of stone. It's just her past and situation that caused her to wear a mask of coldness.
