"It's a stele!"
Big Black Cat, sharp-eyed as ever, recognized it at once. He scurried over and said with a smile, "There are characters on it too! Let's see what they say?"
WHOOSH.
Everyone crowded around.
The stele was incredibly ancient and greatly damaged. The inscriptions on it were extremely faint.
They spent some time trying to decipher it.
"This looks like the character for 'tomb'..." Su Wanyi whispered.
"Tomb? So, this place is a cemetery?" Big Black Dog's eyes lit up, and, as if he'd had a shot of adrenaline, he grew excited.
Grave robbing was his true calling, after all! It was his favorite livelihood. He'd originally thought this underground palace wasn't a tomb, but it seemed he'd circled back to his old trade.
"Whether this is a cemetery or not, did you all notice? This stele is incomplete. It looks like there was another piece above it..." Su Wanyi pointed with her delicate hand, shaking her head with a smile.
