The phone rang several times, and when the nurse grabbed the receiver, it was with a fishing gesture, her body jumping outside the nurse's station to get it.
"Hello, what's the matter?" the nurse asked loudly.
The emergency department's noise was the loudest, especially the cardiovascular emergency center, where everywhere were heart monitor devices, with alarm sounds constantly beeping. People working here had long since developed the skill to shout as loud as a horn if necessary.
The 120 personnel in the office across was relatively quiet, but had to be accustomed to the volume of these top-tier hospital emergency staff, keeping their normal voice to speak: "Capital Airport called, asking if your hospital has a medical student on the domestic flight cz1234?"
Upon hearing this question, the nurse was baffled: What does the opposite side mean? Calling the hospital specifically to ask about a medical student? Could it be that this medical student caused trouble on the plane?
