The air shimmered like heat over embers, and then they stood before it: a grand hall of ancient stone, veiled in the gold light of dusk. The place bore the beauty of a royal sanctuary and the weight of something far more sinister. Ivy curled like claws along its walls, and two ironclad guards stood by the front steps, thick as oaks and twice as silent. Before anyone could speak, the twin iron doors creaked open with the moan of old magic. A woman stepped forth—a vision of grace with a dangerous smile stitched onto her crimson-painted lips. Her gown flowed like spilled wine, and her eyes glittered like polished obsidian.
