Chapter 57 - Use Magic!

Bringer of Wind

Warden of Fire

Guardian of Water

Sentinel of Earth

These are the titles of each of datus of the four tribes.

Kristin looked around as he kept close to the wind tribe warriors since she doesn't know anyone and the gang isn't with her.

And after greeting each other, the datus climb the tree root so that everyone could see them.

"I hereby announce this gathering has started." Datu Tlaloc bellowed and the warriors and envoys hushed and any noise ceased.

The datus then all looked at Storm who nodded in return.

"As many of you may have probably known, the thunderbeasts has awoken early, hence we are doing this gathering earlier." Storm started, "And you are all gathered here to fight them once again and seal them away again."

The warriors listened closely as this is a serious matter because these thunderbeasts could very well kill everything on the island if not dealt with properly.

"But fret not, for we have someone who could help us kill these thunderbeasts." After Storm said that, murmurs broke out as they tried to figure out who it is.

"Kristin, come!" Storm ordered and the warriors from the tribe of wind parted ways for her.

Kristin just stood there, surprised by the turn on events. She didn't expect to have a special mention.

After a few seconds she walked towards the datus and soon she was at the base of the tree.

"This is Kristin Felines, a chosen hero!" Storm announced.

Murmurs started again, this time significantly louder, while some looked shocked, some look in awe, and others are indifferent.

Then skepticism started. Even the datus are starting to question Storm.

"What's the meaning of this Storm?" Dagat asked.

"Yes, we need an explanation." Tlaloc pressed.

"You better have a great excuse to give the gem to her." Shula said with cold eyes, "She doesn't even look that strong." She added as glanced a side eye to Kristin.

"I can hear you, you know." Kristin's ears flared up as she also cast a side eye to Shula.

"Oh? Such a fierce girl." Shula grinned, "I take it back Storm, she's somewhat strong. But its not enough for the thunderbeasts."

"Tsk." was all Kristin could mutter as she turned back.

"As I was saying," Storm continued, "This young lass here is Kristin Felines, a chosen hero. Confirmed by our legend-keep just as the prophesy foretold."

Storm stopped for a moment to let the warriors soak in the information for a moment.

"And for those of you who still has doubt." Storm then turn his gaze at Finch who nodded in return.

"The Gem of Swirling Winds has chosen her as well." Finch said and as soon as he said this, the pendant Kristin has began to glow a green hue.

But it wasn't the only one that glowed.

Soon after there's also a glow in the crowd. Or glows rather.

Red.

Blue.

Brown.

Three others reacted to Kristin's pendant. And one of them is Shula's bracelet.

"Hmm?" Shula stared in amusement. Her bracelet, which is the Gem of Raging Fire is reacting the pendant. "Interesting."

"The Gem of Fire has a liking towards you, but its not enough." Shula once again glanced at Kristin. "But you have potential. You're young, you can still grow strong."

"And maybe one day give a challenge for it." Shula ended as she turned to look at the crowd.

"Alright enough talk!" Shula bellowed out, "The thunderbeasts' nests are in between the tribe of water and the tribe of wind.

We will only use ranged combat and for those who picked up a sword, you'll be responsible for getting the injured out." Shula ordered.

The other datus nodded to her. "Everyone, lets go kill those fiends!" Dagat announced as they raised their weapons and chanted.

And they began to move. Some on the trees, most on the ground.

As Kristin was running, Gale jumped down from a tree and ran beside Kristin.

"Hey, its your first task outside of cleaning and hunting, how you feeling?" Gale asked.

"Been better, I'm not particularly athletic so I'm having a hard time keeping up." Kristin gasped for air.

"You do know you could use your magic to run faster right?" Gale suggested.

"What?" Kristin said as she was focusing on running.

"Use your magic!" Gale shouted as she jumped back up the trees.

"What magic?" Kristin looked to her side but Gale is gone.

'Okay use magic, uhh...' Kristin's thoughts ran wild before she finally came up with what Gale was saying.

"Oh use wind magic, wind is light, and fast, so lets go faster," And as she finish her train of thought, she began to glow a slight green hue, barely noticeable even if one is focusing on her.

And soon after she began to ran faster and the feeling of exhaustion she felt being lifted as magic began to support her running.
