Chapter 60 - Lets Go!

Alex, who just jumped from a platform at least 100 feet above the ground, started running towards where the fight is happening.

"We're going too, let's go!" Charlotte announced as she transformed her limbs into that of a monkey and started swinging from branch to branch.

'Alex told me monkeys travel fast on trees because they have long limbs and great grip strength. It sure does feel easier with monkey limbs.'

She thought as Alex told her after her fight with Hawk that monkeys limbs are more ideal in movement above the trees.

The gang who's still stunned at the feat Alex just pulled, were pulled back to reality as Charlotte also started racing through the trees.

"Lets go, Kristin needs help," Elijah said as lightning began dancing around him and he dashed through the village to grab his bow and arrows.

"Leslie lets go!" Joana said to Leslie, whose still indecisive. "Kristin's in trouble, we have to help her." Joana shook Leslie back and forth.

"Okay okay stop shaking me!" Leslie voiced out weakly as she started to feel dizzy.

"Oh sorry." Joana scratched the back of her head.

Leslie who stabilized herself first then walked towards the trunk of the tree and whispered, "Please help us, our friend is in trouble."

As if hearing her urgency, a tree branch bent down and wrapped around her, "Quick! grabbed on!," She said as she reached out for Joana who grabbed her. "Let's GOOO-"

Joana's cheer was cut short as after she grabbed onto Leslie, they were flung in the air as they were suddenly a thousand feet off the ground, filled with terror.

KYAAAAAAAA!!!!

They screamed as they hugged each other...

-On the ground-

"Woah was that Leslie and... Joana?!" Elijah who was running through the trees at lightning speed squinted his eyes as he was overtaken by the two girls.

"Ha. Ha. Ha." Alex who was only running is quickly running out of stamina as he soon stopped to catch his breath. "I really shouldn't have skipped all those exercise class." He said to himself.

"Oh hey Alex, you run faster than expected." Its Elijah, who's covered in lightning with a bow in his left hand and a quiver of arrows strapped on his back.

"Am I? I don't even know, you go on ahead, I'm just catching my breath, I'm not really known for my athletics," Alex said in staggered breath as arm is being supported by his knees who feels like its going to break anytime soon.

"Lets go dude, I'll carry you," Elijah extended his hand but he froze midway. He's using his lightning magic, he could hurt Alex if he lose concentration.

"On second thought. Why not use magic, you could use lightning magic too right?" Elijah said as he retracted his hand.

"Oh right, I forgot about that." Alex suddenly remembered he could use magic as he stood upright again. "How do you do this again?" He muttered to himself, still breathing heavily.

'Base on what I know so far. Magic seems to respond to thoughts, so if I visualize something like lightning...' Alex then closed his eyes to concentrated as he pictured lightning bolts coming out of the sky, and soon lightning also started to dance around him.

"There you go, you got it!. Now lets go, Kristin still needs us." Elijah smiled at Alex who opened his eyes.

"Right, race you there." Alex waved at Elijah and the next moment, he's gone, leaving only streaks of purple lightning just like Elijah.

"Hey! no fair!" Elijah shouted at Alex as he also started running.

-In the sky-

KYAAAAA!!!!

Leslie and Joana who's still flying through the air.

They have a different worry now, they are losing altitude. And both of them have no idea how to land.

"WE'RE GONNA DIEEE!!!" Joana screamed as she hugged Leslie tighter.

As they are nearing the trees, they closed their eyes and brace for impact... which never came.

When they opened their eyes, they are gently held up by vines crisscrossed like a net slightly above the trees.

Both the girls released a sigh of relief as the vines lowered to a nearby branch that's wide and strong enough to carry both of them.

Charlotte who was swinging nearby saw them and went towards them.

"Hey guys, was it you that I heard scream?" Charlotte asked, dangling from a branch on one, very hairy arm.

"Y-yea, the freaking tree threw us." Joana said with a shaky voice as she felt like vomiting. "What's with the hairy arm?" she asked as she noticed that Charlotte's arm seemed different.

"Oh these? Orangutan arms. Alex told me monkey limbs are better suited for trees." Charlotte explained.

"That explains the hair," Joana said.

"H-Hey Joana..." Leslie whispered.

"Yeah?"

"You might want to hold on..."

"WAIT NO-"

Joana's words were cut short as they were flung again, leaving a surprised and frightened Charlotte behind.
