Chapter 66 - Pierce Them All!

While Calen is treating Joana, with Charlotte worriedly watching over, though she tries not to show it.

Meanwhile, Leslie has been watching the battle all this while, tears building up in her eyes as she kept hearing a grieving voice yelling 'My cub!' over and over and over.

"I have to do something." Leslie said to herself as she began running to the battlefield.

And just an earshot away, a warrior turned his head and saw Leslie run off, he's about to stop her but he thought otherwise. In his mind, this is a battlefield, those who rush in without a plan will definitely die.

Leslie rushed in, she had severely underestimated how far the battle actually is.

-Alex, Elijah, Storm and Dagat-

"I'm ready! Everyone clear out!" Alex called out.

The three nodded to each other as they each made their exit, or retreat for this case.

Alex closed his eyes took a deep breath, arms stretched out, hands clasped together, forming a finger gun, with a blue orb spinning centimeters away from his fingertips. 'Don't miss' Alex said, more to himself, and somewhat to the magic he's gathered.

"Pierce them all! [Raygun]!" Alex shouted with all his might as the magic he's been condensing all this time was released, turned into a deadly ray of blue light as Alex is knocked off his feet by the recoil.

The air gave way as the raygun blazed past it . Storm, Dagat, and Elijah shielded their eyes as debris flew away from Alex but also because the laser he shot is too bright to directly look at.

And as foretold, the spell pierced right through the chest of the wolf.

The smoke cleared as the wolf stumbled to show... A hole from which the four of them could see the other side.

Alex, who's down on the ground, heaved a sigh of relief as he let his back fall onto the ground.

"Nice shot Alex!" Elijah cheered, but not the Datus.

"Don't celebrate yet!" Dagat exclaimed as he pointed at the thunderbeast's chest, "He missed the heart!"

GRRR....

The thunderbeast growled low as it struggled to balance itself.

"Get Alex out of there!" Storm ordered Elijah who moved in fast as he assisted Alex off the ground and guided him away.

"Distract it while the kids get away!" Storm charged in followed by Dagat as they continued their previous assault.

The thunderbeast, now injured heavily, isn't as fast as it used to as it struggled to keep up. Trying to connect a swipe of its claws but failing, receiving blows from multiple side.

Elijah tried to scurry away with Alex faster as to not be affected by the aftershocks of the clash.

"I can still fight." Alex coughed as he tried to stand up.

"Don't kid yourself Alex, you can barely even stand." Elijah stopped Alex, "Just rest for a few minutes. Big attacks tend to have big costs." Elijah quoted from some anime he watch a while back.

Alex sighed as he fell on his back gasping air, eyes closed, but conscious.

Elijah wanted to move Alex further for safety but he doesn't have enough strength to move him further.

"At least put one of those shields you used," Elijah said.

Alex stifled a nod, still breathing heavily, and a moment later a thin blue film covered Alex in a dome shape.

"You sure this thing's strong enough?" Elijah said as he knocked on the "shield" Alex made. To his surprise though he felt this shield repulsed his hand.

"It did block a lightning bolt from the sky," Alex smiled.

Elijah only nodded and rushed back to the fight.

As soon as he got in range, he shot arrow after arrow. Though admittedly roughly half actually hit the thunderbeast. Its still agile enough to dodge Elijah's poor shot despite being a huge beast.

Elijah tried to draw another arrow, but to absolutely no one's surprise, Elijah ran out of arrows real quick.

'Crap, I ran out of arrows,' Elijah panicked, he frantically look around for arrows that just hit the ground, but nothing is immediately within reach that doesn't get in Storm and Dagat's way.

"If only I can use magic to make arrows," Elijah whispered. The thunderbeast stopped using its lightning attacks since its heavily injured, so Elijah can't do his original task of blocking said lightning attacks.

Elijah's hesitant to use his lightning magic in fear of hitting either of the datus, or worse, hit both of them and quite possibly charge the thunderbeast.

Elijah clenched and gritted his teeth, "I need arrows, and quick." he whispered and prepared to run towards the nearest arrow, which is very close to where the Datus are.

"Huh?"

But as Elijah took a step, he found in his clenched fist, an arrow.
