The moment I turned the corner and disappeared from view, I pulled out my phone and typed a quick message to Rohan.
"On my way to the room. Don't call. Just come straight."
I reached our secret room—a quiet, unused studio space only the two of us ever used. A place meant for privacy. For work.Or for moments like this.
A few minutes later, the door creaked open. Rohan slipped inside and shut it quickly behind him.
"Did he suspect anything?" he asked.
"I don't know," I replied. "But he was watching me… very closely."
Rohan exhaled slowly, running a hand through his hair."That's what worries me. Yesterday, I saw him near your office building. He didn't notice me. And I'm sure he wasn't there for work."
A cold shiver ran down my spine.
"Why would he be there without telling me?"
Rohan hesitated before speaking."Either he's following you… or he's meeting someone he doesn't want you to know about."
The air grew heavy, suffocating.
I took a deep breath."So… what do we do now?"
Rohan stepped closer, his voice low and firm."First, we find out the truth. Whatever Aryan is hiding—we uncover it before it's too late."
I nodded slowly, my fingers trembling despite myself.
For the first time, I felt something I had never associated with Aryan before.
Fear.
A fear that maybe…the man beside me every morning is no longer the man I once knew.
