Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 - The Saiyan join the Frey

Frieza's Ship – Medical Bay

Beeping echoed in the dim, sterile room as Nappa stirred first. His bulky frame sat up with a groan, the rejuvenation tank still dripping with recovery fluid. Beside him, Vegeta's pod hissed open. The Prince of Saiyans stepped out slowly… and then began to laugh.

Vegeta (grinning wildly):"So… this is what it feels like."His muscles pulsed. Power surged through his veins like wildfire."I've done it. I've finally ascended… Super Saiyan…"

Nappa (wiping his face):"You sure about that, Vegeta? You do look stronger—but Super Saiyan?"

Vegeta (cocky):"Shut up, Nappa. I feel it. My senses are sharper, my blood's alive with fury. My power... it's far beyond what I had before."

Suddenly, both Saiyans turned their heads. The ship trembled. An enormous energy spike flared in the distance.

Nappa (staring wide-eyed):"What the hell is that…?"

Vegeta (scouter clicking):"That's Frieza"

During his 2nd form Transformation against the Z fighters

Nappa (eyes narrowing):"He feels weak. That can't be right."

Vegeta (chuckling):"Compared to us now? Probably not."

The ship door burst open—and standing in the corridor was a disheveled, bleeding Zarbon, scowling.

Zarbon (sneering):"You Saiyan scum survived? No matter—"

A single beam shot forward. It pierced Zarbon through the chest.

Nappa (arms still extended):"I'm done talking to pretty boys."

Zarbon collapsed in silence.

A blinding streak flew across the Namekian sky—Vegeta and Nappa, cloaking their energies as they raced toward the source of Frieza's power.

They crested a hill just as an explosion rocked the horizon.

Below them, battered Z Fighters lay scattered, bloodied and beaten. Frieza hovered calmly in the air in his final form, radiating a terrifying pressure unlike anything they had felt before.

Vegeta (staggering):"T-That… that's not possible…"

Nappa (mouth agape):"He's... he's transformed again?"

The weight of Frieza's aura hit them like a wave of gravity. Their confidence faltered.

Vegeta (growling, fists clenched):"No... I refuse to back down now…"

Frieza turned his head, sensing them.

Frieza (voice dripping with amusement):"Ah… Vegeta. Alive again, are we? How fortunate."

Vegeta (hovering forward cautiously):"You won't be smiling for long, Frieza."

Frieza (mockingly):"Really now? You and your bald guard dog think you can win?"

Nappa (growling):"Keep talking, freak."

Vegeta narrowed his eyes and then glanced at the Z Fighters, who were beginning to stir.

Vegeta (low voice):"Kakarot. Earthlings. Listen up."

Goku (raising an eyebrow):"What is it, Vegeta?"

Vegeta:"We hate each other, that's clear. But if we don't team up now, Frieza will kill every last one of us. You saw what he did to your friends. Even I underestimated him."

Goku looked at the battered forms of Gohan, Piccolo, Raditz, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Roshi. Then at the smirking tyrant.

Piccolo (quietly):"…Alright. We'll fight together."

Tien (snarling):"This better not be another one of your schemes."

Vegeta (smirking slightly):"I don't have time for your Stupidity. Not today."

The warriors gathered again. Battle-worn, bruised, and bloodied—but united.

Frieza hovered above, arms crossed, bored.

Frieza (mocking):"Is this the best the universe has to offer?"

As the dust began to settle and the warriors rose once more, there was a noticeable tension in the air—but it wasn't from Frieza. It was from Goku's calm expression. His arms remained crossed, his aura perfectly still.

Vegeta (irritated):"And you Kakarot... what are you doing?! You think watching your allies get beaten half to death is some kind of strategy?"

Nappa (barking):"You've lost it! You waiting for Frieza to grow bored and kill us all?"

Goku (grinning faintly):"Is this really all you have? Are you all giving up? Would you like me to step in?"

Silence.

The statement hung in the air like a thunderclap. The Z Fighters blinked. Even Vegeta's words caught in his throat.

Krillin (gritting his teeth):"What... did he just say?"

Piccolo (narrowing his eyes):"He's provoking us…"

Gohan (fists clenched):"Dad…"

Raditz (growling):"He's trying to light a fire under us."

Tien (growling):"Heh… I'll admit it. That pisses me off."

Yamcha (wiping blood from his lip):"Fine. You want to see us try harder, Goku? You got it."

Master Roshi (adjusting his glasses):"Still the same kid who used to push himself past his limits. Now he's pushing us."

Frieza hovered nearby, watching the exchange with an amused smirk.

Frieza:"What a curious display of self-destruction. I do hope you try harder. I'm beginning to grow bored."

But the Z Fighters ignored him. Their attention turned inward—to the strength that remained in their limbs, their hearts, and the fire Goku had just stoked.

One by one, their auras flared. Ki surged through their battered bodies. They remembered their training—Kami, King Kai, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, their families, their purpose.

Piccolo:"No more holding back."

Raditz (glancing at Gohan):"Time to show him what we're really made of."

Gohan (smiling):"Let's go!"

The warriors launched back into battle—not out of desperation, but with determination. They weren't just surviving. They were fighting to win.

And Goku… just watched. For now.

The ground cracked beneath their feet. A whirlwind of energy surged as Vegeta, Nappa, Piccolo, Raditz, Gohan, and the rest of the Z Fighters stood together, a wall of warriors facing the living nightmare that was Frieza's Final Form.

Goku stood behind them, his arms still folded.

Frieza (smirking):

"How touching. A band of mongrels banding together. I'll make this quick."

Vegeta (powering up, golden aura crackling):

"You're not the only one with transformations!"

He roared. His power spiked as he burst into a controlled Great Ape without losing his mind—a perfected form of the Ōzaru, thanks to the energy ball he threw above them. The ground trembled as Nappa, Gohan, and Raditz followed, tails swaying in synchronization. The sky darkened, the artificial moonlight in effect.

Piccolo (gritting his teeth):

"This is it! Push everything you've got!"

Krillin:

"Kaioken x5!"

Tien:

"Kaioken x7!"

Yamcha:

"Kaioken x3!"

Red auras burst across the battlefield. The air rippled with the clash of tremendous forces. Together, they launched forward. Energy blasts surged in arcs, Great Ape fists crashed like meteors. Raditz and Gohan cornered Frieza in a pincer attack while Piccolo landed a flurry of precision strikes from behind.

But Frieza—calm, cold—moved like liquid death.

He weaved through a simultaneous punch from Nappa and Gohan, appearing behind Yamcha, landing a brutal elbow that sent him flying into a crater.

Frieza (mocking):

"You throw everything at me… and still fall short."

Roshi, clutching a sealing talisman, stepped forward despite his shaking knees.

Roshi (low voice):

"Mafuba!"

The wind howled as a swirling vortex of energy pulled Frieza toward a swirling urn. For a heartbeat, his body shifted—and then he disappeared from the technique's grasp with Instant Speed.

Frieza (snarling):

"Do you take me for a fool?!"

He slashed downward with a finger beam, piercing Roshi's side. Blood spattered across the scorched earth.

Krillin (shouting):

"Master Roshi!"

Piccolo:

"He's still breathing—keep fighting!"

Kaioken flares reached blinding intensities. Gohan, in his Great Ape form, let out a primal roar and slammed Frieza into a mountain. Raditz followed with a mouth beam. The dust cleared—Frieza still stood.

He was scratched. Nothing more.

Then he retaliated.

With lightning-fast precision, Frieza danced between the apes, breaking bones, cracking ribs, blasting limbs. Tien collapsed after a devastating blow to the chest. Krillin lost consciousness when slammed into a cliff wall. Even Great Ape Vegeta, raging and brilliant, was caught mid-punch and hurled across the plateau.

One by one, they fell.

Nappa roared in defiance before his jaw was broken by a single flick.

Frieza (disgusted):

"I expected more from Saiyan filth."

Raditz and Gohan stood together, the last two titans. Their massive bodies panted, trembling with exertion. Frieza smiled cruelly and raised a finger.

One beam.

Raditz screamed in agony, dropping to the ground, unconscious. Gohan shrunk back to his base form from exhaustion and the energy ball dissipating.

Vegeta stared defiantly at Frieza, his desperation and anger all getting the better of him. Then his hair flickered a golden hue while his eyes took on a green shade. But before he could unleash this new found strength he reached his limit and fell unconscious.

Frieza hovered, triumphant.

Frieza:

"Is that all?"

Dust settled. Groans filled the field. Blood painted the Namekian soil.

Then, a shadow stepped forward.

Goku.

His arms dropped to his sides. His expression was calm.

He looked at his fallen friends—some unconscious, some barely hanging on.

Goku (softly):

"You all did well."

Frieza narrowed his eyes.

Frieza:

"And what will you do, monkey? Join the pile?"

Goku's aura flickered. Not with anger. Not with arrogance.

But resolve.

Goku:

"I guess it's my turn now."
