Looking at Li Jing's number, Yichan picked up.
"Hello"
"Yichan, it's me mom" - Mrs. Chen said from the other side.
Surprised, Yichan looked at Yumi who sat opposite him and replied.
"Hi mom, How are you?"
Listening to Yichan answering, Yumi thought it was Mrs.Zhang and panicked.
Looking at her, Yichan smiled and said in a whisper, "Relax, it's your mom."
That was even more confusing, why would her mom call him.
"Yumi isn't picking up. is she with you?" - asked Mrs. Chen.
"Yes, we were eating breakfast. hold on Mom, I am passing the phone to her."
Taking phone from Yichan, Yumi started talking to her mum. Meanwhile, Yichan went upstairs to change and get ready for office.
When Yumi finished the call, she went to give his phone to Yichan. when she knocked on the guest bedroom, there was no answer. Thinking he was getting ready, she went into the room she slept in to do the same.
But as she opened the door and went into the room, the bathroom door opened and Yichan came out with Just a towel wrapped around his waist with another towel in his hand wiping his hair.
Both of them stared at each other in shock for a few seconds and turned around at the same time.
With her face all red, Yumi closed her eyes. She was ashamed to barge in on him. hitting her forehead , she said "Sorry Brother Yichan, I thought this was the room I stayed in. I should have knocked. I am really sorry."
Saying this she rushed out of the room without waiting for another second.
Hearing the door click shut, Yichan turned around. Throwing his head back, he took a deep breath and sighed. His heart was beating so fast. he looked at the door once again before walking into the closet to change.
Yumi who rushed out of the room, stood outside the room and looked around. This definitely looked like the room she stayed in. But still, she should have knocked.
when she was getting ready, she noticed that it was his room but since, he let her sleep there, she thought--stupid Yumi. Images of Yichan half naked were imprinted on her mind now. she still couldn't believe she just barged into his room like that.
While she was kicking herself about it, Yichan got dressed and came out in his signature blue three pieces suit with a white crisp shirt.
As soon as the door opened, Yumi went rigid and looked at her feet. looking at Yumi, Yichan cleared his throat and said.
"Sorry Yumi, I should have used the guest room bathroom. but my clothes are still here. I should have let you know. Don't worry I will get Butler Chang to move them today, so you can use this room.
when she looked up to him, he hesitated before saying, "Sorry, you were drunk yesterday and I didn't want to leave you at your apartment alone. But if you want to go back and stay there for a few days till you make up your mind. That's completely up to you."
Chewing her lip, She still looked awkward, when she replied, " There is no point in staying at the apartment and it will only cause unnecessary things. I can take the guest room, since my things are still at the apartment. it will be easier for me to move there.But this is your room, you should keep it. I don't want you to give up your room for me."
Looking at Yumi whose ears are red and face flushed, yichan didn't want to argue and make her even more uncomfortable.
Your room, my room , he didn't like all this. if it was up to him, they would already be sharing a room and a bed.
But they can't. whatever happened 10 minutes ago, clearly shows how uncomfortable and awkward their relationship is.
Sighing, he said "Give me 20 minutes, I will drop you at the hospital."
"That's what I came to tell you and give your your phone" - Yumi said handing his phone back to him.
Taking his phone, he looked at her waiting for her to continue.
"Mom asked me not to come today. She had breakfast with Li Jing and going to rest. They also have a movie time for all the patients in the hospitals. She wants to spend it with the other patients and make friends."
Raising her head slowly, she looked at him and said, "Can you drop me at my apartment? I don't have my car with me and I need to bring my stuff."
nodding his head, Yichan said, "if everything is packed and ready, Butler Chang can take care of moving if you give him your keys."
"I don't want to trouble Butler Chang, I don't have much. it's just a few suitcases and books. I can bring them back myself Brother Yichan." - Yumi replied shaking her head.
"Okay, how about this. Take Butler Chang and go your apartment. he can help you with anything you need or just keep you company. I have few things I need to take care of in the office and I am meeting Jingyao for lunch. if you are done by Lunchtime, come to the office. We have to go through few things anyway. so, it will be easier at the office. is that okay?" - he asked.
"to the office? but what will everybody think?" - Yumi asked.
"Yumi, like I said yesterday, I don't want to hide that you are my wife now. sooner or later, everybody will know" - he said without any hesitation.
taking a deep breath, she replied "I understand brother Yichan. I am not trying to or asking you to hide our marriage. it's just that I am worried aunty and uncle and your grandparents will misunderstand."
Smiling at her, he gently patted her head, "Silly girl, why are you worried about everything? I went to the Zhang mansion in the morning. everybody in my family already knows. and thanks to Li jing they got the confirmation too"
