What is likely to happen is that the god of illusion will gain the authority of the pathway of illusion, the pathway of dreams, and the pathway of telepathy while he is struggling to survive with an incomplete body.
Letting everyone know what had happened to him wasn't going to benefit him in any way, but he still went ahead to publicize what had happened. This is because he wants revenge against Legion at all cost.
He still hasn't given up, though. His current goal is to go to the vault of gold to sell the information he has about Legion there. He picked the vault of gold because their god is a little trustworthy when it comes to business.
Only the god of merchants might not kill him immediately and would make a deal with him. If things go well for him, he will start a cult and use rue faith to sustain his soul. From there, he will work towards creating a complete angel of telepathy.
