The dark lake is so deep that just a glance fills one with a mysterious fear. In the wind, it seems as if there's a sound of a giant creature slapping the water deep within the lake, yet when you look closely, there's nothing to be seen.
Shard stirred the campfire with a long tree branch in his hand, thought for a moment, then took a ring out of his pocket:
"The 'Plague Doctor's Ring', it can grant immunity to some special diseases. You should wear it; it might come in handy later, and the way to use it is to rotate the ring face counter-clockwise. No need to refuse, my physical condition is probably stronger than yours."
Iluna certainly didn't refuse. After accepting the ring, she asked Shard whether he still carried her Sun Holy Emblem Brooch. After receiving a confirming answer, they resumed their conversation about the Ever-Youth Leaf.
