"Although this person has all sorts of flaws, I like that he keeps his word."
Shard muttered, placing the card into his deck. Despite trying hard to control it, a smile crept onto his face. The image of him turning his back on the woman's corpse on the bed, smiling next to the dim candlelight at the table, was strange, but fortunately, no one could see it.
With the card in hand, Shard's official purpose for visiting the manor tonight was fulfilled, but he still had many things to do.
He turned to look at the woman's corpse and whispered softly:
"Oh, since Mrs. Haila was murdered, maybe I can find her killer."
As the words fell, the wind and snow blowing in from the half-open window suddenly intensified. The howling of the wind sounded even more like a wail from a ghost.
