"I wonder if the incident with the Earl of the Southern Nation has anything to do with that 'emotionless assassin'?"
The "emotionless assassin" is a city rumor, which according to increasingly outrageous tales, is a person trained with harsh methods, similar to a Death Knight, specifically to incite conflict between the two nations and trigger a war. Shard could only say that one should not read too many knight novels.
The Witch also laughed, while Shard shook his head:
"What's this got to do with me? I was at home all night. However, this might be related to the cursed handkerchief I accidentally lost. I lost it at a banquet last weekend, and it had a curse attached to it. I hope whoever finds it discards it soon."
Shard said casually, as Mia nudged him. He scooped a spoonful of apple jam and spread it on the gourmet cat food. Shard had secretly tasted this cat food once; it was actually quite good.
