Shard distributed food to everyone while curiously asking the young witch if she had also gotten lost or had come with some purpose. The witch took the apple, tossed it between her hands, and replied with a somewhat somber tone:
"I have a very important friend who got lost on the road of travel. Clara and I were originally on the way to find her. We saw the firelight while camping at night and came over. I know this place and made some preparations in advance, but I didn't expect... Anyway, I at least want to know the answer."
As for the knight and the bard, the former listened to this information in surprise, but he accepted it quickly. The bard, however, blinked in bewilderment, his mind unable to comprehend that this adventure was even more exciting than imagined.
