Hyman was a "Shadowless Ghost."
He was a servant god in the Heavenly Palace, not belonging to any True God but one of many staff members similar to the Lower Realm officials, responsible for maintaining the normal operation of the Heavenly Palace.
The origins of this group of special servant gods are complex. But due to their ancient history and their experience of the tribulations in the Chaotic Void, their true background has become difficult to trace for both the Immortal Race and the Divine Clans.
During the Heavenly Palace's entry into the Chaotic Void, countless deities failed to survive and fell, including the Divine Emperor and the Main Gods. However, Hyman and other officials hid in the deepest part of the Heavenly Palace, protected by it, and thus managed to escape the First Tribulation.
With the return of the Heavenly Palace and the revival of the gods, people like Hyman were gradually "resurrected."
