Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

Professor Oak nodded in understanding. He didn't want Percy to go out immediately and get himself killed. "I will prepare a room for you next to the ranch so you can train your Pokémon with some of the Pokémon in the ranch. Is there anything else you need?"

"I need a high-quality item to raise Totodile's potential when he evolves," Percy asked. 'I know that I am asking for a lot, but I need this before I evolve Totodile.'

Professor Oak thought for a minute and concluded. "I will give you an item and help you out his time." He secretly came to the conclusion that he wanted to sponsor his old friend's son. He also saw a lot of potential in Percy. "You must owe me a favor, though." He pulled out his Pokédex and sent a message to somebody. "You can check out what your supply bag has while we wait." The professor pointed toward a bag on a table. Percy nodded and walked to the survival bag and opened it. It contained the following

1 Hyper potion

3 Super potions

5 Potions

10 poke balls

Camping supplies(tent,pots,etc.)

'This is some pretty good stuff. I'm surprised Professor Oak would give me this much.' Percy thought to himself. "There is also 5000 pokedollars wired to your Pokédex. Make sure you use it to get everything you need for your journey. I'll also bring you to go pick out your weapon of choice." As Professor Oak finished what he was saying, a middle-aged man in a white lab coat walked in with a box in his hands. The man walked up to Professor Oak, handed the box to him, and walked away.

"This is a scale infused with water energy of a Champion-level Feraligatr at blue potential. I'm hoping you can do me a big favor for getting you this. Its market value is almost 100,000,000 poke dollars." The professor explained.

Percy's jaw hit the floor as he stared at the Professor in amazement. "How could I pay you back for this?" This was way above Percy's expectations. He just wanted something that would be helpful to him, not send him to a new level.

"There is somebody I need you to escort to Honey City. I'll send the details and time to you later. Think of this as a future investment. I expect you to help me when I need you. Otherwise, I will give you full freedom." Oak explained.

After thinking for a second, Percy nodded intensely. "Of course, Professor." He already planned on helping Professor Oak as much as possible since he was an important figure in society.

After their conversation, Percy pulled out his Pokédex and stored his bag and scale inside before he followed Professor Oak out of the room. Oak led them down a few halls into a room that looked like an armory. There were knives and all kinds of blades hanging on the walls. "All the weapons here can be chosen by you with no cost. Pick wisely, I won't give you another opportunity like this for free." He added.

Nodding Percy took a step forward towards all the weapons. After thinking for a second, he decided to inspect the ones that interested him. He walked to a dark steel bayonet and examined it closely, then walked away uninterested. He then stepped toward a small hatchet with dark metal and a rubber grip.

After looking at it for a second, he grabbed it and swung his hand experimentally, testing its balance. "I'll take this one," Percy said. He turned the hatchet over in his hand. 'This has more uses than just a weapon, I can skin Pokémon and chop wood with it too.' He thought. "Alright, let's get going, then I'll show you to your room and where the training field is." Oak walked out of the room. Percy put the sheath around the blade of the axe, shoved it in his belt, and followed the Professor.

After about an hour of touring around the area, Percy flopped onto his bed. 'I should check out Totodile's stats, and I should come up with a training plan for it.' He let Totodile out of its pokeball and pulled out his Pokédex. After holding the camera up to the Totodile, he saw its stats.

Pokemon: Totodile

Level: 10

Type: Water

Abilities: Torrent, Sheer Force

Gender: Male

Potential: Deep Red

Moves: Scratch, Leer, Rage, Water Gun, Aqua Tail (Inherent move), Scald (Inherent move)

Percy raised his eyebrows in surprise. 'I didn't think that this Totodile was so good. Aqua Tail for an inherent move is really good. Sheer force isn't what I would want personally, but it can make for a really strong Pokémon. I'm gonna have to make his combat style berserker-like.' "Would you like a special name or do you want me to call you Totodile?" Percy asked. The Totodile jumped up and down when it heard it could get a name. After listing off names for a while, they came up with the name Crash. Percy thought it embodied the berserker spirit.

After resting for a while, Percy's Pokédex vibrated with a message notification. He opened his eyes and checked his Pokédex. It was from Professor Oak. It had details of the person he wants him to escort. She was a tall 17-year-old girl with bright blonde hair and a gleaming smile. Her name was Charlotte Johnson.

The message stated that she is a celebrity who was doing some advertising for Professor Oak. She was doing an event in Honey City and needed an escort through Route 1. Normally, she has professional hired guards, but her manager and parents wanted her to interact with people her own age. Percy is supposed to escort her with one other guy.

The Professor scheduled them to meet each other in 3 days. He had to escort Charlotte in 1 week, so he had enough time to train and level up Crash. He decided he wanted to call the Professor to ask about who his fellow security guard is. Going to Professor Oak's contact, he pressed call and waited for the Professor to pick up. After a long conversation with Professor Oak, Percy thanked him and hung up.

The person who was supposed to help him escort Charlotte was the same age as him. The Professor said his name was Jason Sakaki. Apparently, the Professor had been raising him for a while, and he had gotten his first Pokémon on the same day as Percy. Professor Oak said he is a talented boy with some trust issues. He asked Percy to forgive him if he was a little rude.

Percy went over all the information and decided he needed to start training tomorrow after he rested. That night, he spent some time exploring the Pokédex and getting to know its features. He also meditated for one hour before he went to sleep in his room. He always trained his aura and practiced for 1 hour every night. After meditating, he brought out Crash and tried to go to sleep. When he lay down with the covers over his chest, he felt something heavy smash onto him. All the air rushed out of his lungs, and he rolled out of bed trying to suck air in. When he looked back up to his bed, he saw Crash looking innocently in his direction before curling up and half-closing his eyes. "I can see your eyes are open?" Percy said, confused. Crash tightly squeezed his eyes shut and pretended not to hear him. 'Little shit,' he got up off the floor, got into his bed, and fell quickly asleep.
