I quickly arrive at my familiar hunting grounds near the base of the tree. I spot another snake. How many snakes are there? I killed a few and the ones my mother killed should there still be this many left? I shake the thoughts out of my head. Considering this. cultivation world maybe they lay more eggs than normal or more often. This is a cage for different animals maybe the humans chose a species that lays more often and on higher numbers. keeping this place self-sufficient should be the goal right? I haven't seen any humans since I been here maybe mother will have more information.
The snake I spotted still hasn't sensed me but I attack it nonetheless. It was a quick kill. There we go another one bites the dust.. I started eating it on the ground while keeping aware of my surroundings and not long after I feel a tingling at the edge of my senses. It feels aggressive is this killing intent? I couldn't help but think of the novels I use to read back on earth. It quickly approaches while I'm eating and it is obviously unaware that I have already noticed it's presence. as it gets close I take off into the air I circle around quickly and fire my Thunder Crow ember shots. I didn't notice at first but as I started firing at it I quickly notice it wasn't a snake but a mouse maybe a rat.
I was slightly started to find out it wasn't my old nemesis the Tier 1 snake. It hissed at me as it took damage it obviously was not as defensively strong as the snake but it was slightly faster. It seemed to be another tier 0 creature maybe it was on the verge of becoming tier 1 since I could faintly sense qi in it's body converging near it's stomach.
It was obvious that I still needed more training sensing creatures since I didn't even know that the creature wasn't a snake. I flew ahead of it and focused more qi into my Thunder Crow lightning flame and turned it into a flame thrower and created a wall made of fire with a hint of lightning . If it tried to go through hopefully the lightning would paralyze it and cook it to death. As soon as it saw the flame wall it tried to turn away and run back where it came from. I quickly focus more of my flame and encircled it. The fear and panic in it's eyes made it irrational it tried to jump through the fire unknowingly getting paralyzed in the process and being cooked alive
The screams that it left as it died in agony were not something I would be forgetting anytime soon.
My experiment with Born for battle seemed to be a success but mastery of the technique is woefully lacking. I take the charred corpse of the mouse/rat thing to mother She doesn't seem to be a picky eater but hearing how it died left me with no appetite for this creature. I take off back to my nest and ponder about today's hunt/ battle.
Born for battle seems like a useful skill even at the entry level I see the benefit. If I progress with it even further would I sense from farther away? or will it make me more sensitive that I could even pick up tiny threats that wouldn't be noticable. Hah! I might even have my own catch phrase "My Crow sense is tingling." ah my immaturity is showing but ya know what I don't care! I start cawing like a lunatic. It's been a while since I was happy like this.
I decide to end the night buy cultivating.
Deep in the galaxy a man with muscles so dense that they seem sturdy enough to with stand planet shattering blows was busy fighting in a war. He took is blade and cut down all who stood before him. Calling him a battle maniac would be a term that would fit him perfectly. He lived for battle and he would die for it to, His passion for fighting was known to everyone at his level his enemies would fear him and his allies would be wary for just Incase a warrior madness would suddenly take over and in that state friend or foe didn't matter.
In front of him he stabbed, cut pierced anything and everything was fodder for his blade. Then he felt it it was tiny almost ethereal but he knew what it was. He mumbled something then he laughed maniacally his swings became faster more unpredictable and he continued to laugh. His enemies immediately knew that the man had fallen into bloodlust and tried to run away.
Soldiers on his side started to run away as well. One high ranking soldier took out a wooden talisman and screamed into it Activate protocol Berserk blood demon retrieve units pha, ta and ma. The person on the other side quickly understood the situation and used his authority and activated the backup plan, the soldiers equiped with emergency teleportation tags started to disappear and ended up back at base some of them never experienced such madness and bloodlust before collapsed with fear in their hearts quite possible having damaged their dao. The leader of the base quickly demanded to know the situation and the highest ranking soldier near the battlefield explained what he heard right before the madness took over.
Bolly right before his madness took over had an overwhelming smile on his face he mumbled to him self that there was finally a new junior that joined his family and what ever sanity he had left he seemed to let go in celebration.
This Bolly will be the death of me one day the base commander spoke He is a double edged sword and we should not be depending on him. I agree but the Emperor believes we need him are you willing to disagree with the Emperor. The field leader said No I suppose not but we should come up with more precautions I have a feeling this junior of his might be as much trouble as Bolly the Base leader spoke. Yes sir. The field commander saluted and walked out of the office.
