Suddenly, Seraphina Redgrave's forehead was tapped.
She turned her head to look, and Ethan Sterling sat in front of her, his amber eyes watching her: "Why did you drift off again?"
It was only then that Seraphina realized Nathan Ayers had already left, leaving just her and Ethan in the room.
She scooped up a spoonful of soup, feeding it to Ethan's lips, and said, "I was just thinking that Selena Quinn took an arrow for you; it's natural for you to protect her."
Her voice was devoid of emotion.
Ethan took a sip of Seraphina's soup, listened to her words, understood what she meant, and smiled slightly: "To outsiders, Selena Quinn is like a sister to me, Ethan Sterling. If she were to bear the blame for the Elite Society, it would be disgraceful for me."
That's the only reason?
"I thought it was because she saved you, so you spared her."
Seraphina said.
