Chapter 21 - Chapter 20. preparations (1)

After killing the demon, James hears the sound of the system notification, telling him that he had completed the mission.

"Hmmmm. Now let's hear this truth" he muttered to himself.

While thinking about the truth that the system has to give to him, he noticed that he was no longer in his divine kingdom, he was now in the clouds, thousand of miles above ground. Standing there and looking at the vast empty space, he spaced out for a moment.

"What am I doing here, is this the reward, is it like a movie or something" James asked himself a couple of questions.

Speaking to himself, a voice reverberate through out the sky, shaking James out of his thoughts, "time is limited to those who cherish it" the voice that spoke that sentence seemed monotone, as of it was a robot, something without emotions.

"Dear host, congratulations for killing the minor lord *****, the truth of this world is simple host, but you are still not integrated enough to receive the information. What the host is experiencing right now isn't a true transmigration but a reclusive one, (please don't ask you will find out when your ready).

The Earth faces a great disaster, that threaten to bring about the death of all human on Earth, this reality is but your trial, for to become a God is not one without challenges, please try and overcome your trial host.

Listening to what the voice had to say about the 'truth' James was stunned speechless. And surprisingly James found out that he was very calm after hearing what the system had to say, and he deducted one thing, 'so the truth about my transmigration runs deeper than just my natural death,' James say with sadness.

"That means that someone killed me" James roared to the sky, and what's this about the earth being invaded, was that demon also one of the invaders" James pondered out loud.

"Hey system…." Just as he was just about to ask the system a question, he received another notification.

"Quest update"

Time remaining for the battle of ascension :- 72 days.

"Please be prepared host"

Looking at the quest update, James was once again dumbfounded, why is the system rushing him, he understood that the earth is in danger from the information he got, but he was just one man, he had lots to do, and giving him two months and ten days to finish up preparation is not an easy thing to do.

"Sigh..." he could only sigh and shake his head, turning his head, he found out that he was back to his supposed divine kingdom. Looking around the place he could only mutter "all of this fake, these people too are fake, sigh" he could not help but sigh again.

After all who wouldn't be thrilled to be able to transmigrated to a fantasy world, were powers are involved and as a God no less.

'sigh' James could not help but sigh again. Looking down at the supposed mortal realm, he sees Peter still trying to preach to the people and get them to believe in his God, moving his eyes , he sees Sam and the wolf feasting on their spoils of war. Looking at them he could not help but feel a sense of urgency, and he asked himself a question he had never asked himself before. "What if I lose the battle for ascension, then what"

"Hey system" he called out.

"what would happen if I fail the battle for ascension" he asked nervously, cause the system had never replied to his questions before, but he was surprised to get a response, but not the hopefully one he expected.

"if the host fails in the battle for ascension, then the host soul would dissipate into the void never to be reincarnated again, along with the souls of one billion humans as recompense for the wasted energy used in preserving the host trial. So please ensure that you don't fail the trial Host." The system replied in it's monotonous voice.

James just stood frozen there like a block of wood, unable to say anything. The pressure on him just tripled, he didn't know what to do, the lives of one billion people rested on his shoulders. That's a lot to take in for someone who just supposedly transmigrated for just a week.

Looking down at the mortal realm, he sent a message down to Sam telling him to move north to the village that Peter resides in as soon as possible, he felt choked and tried to calm down as much as possible, cause freaking out will only waste his already limited time.

After sending the message to Sam, he also sent one to Peter to, telling him to hurry, pick the potential believers and start training as soon as possible. After sending the message to both his disciples all he could do was wait, unlike his predecessor, he couldn't leave this 'divine kingdom' so the only option left was to wait and pray that his believers get strong enough to win the battle for him.
