He Jitang didn't answer her but looked at Xiaojing.
He said to Xiaojing, "When you get to City B, take good care of the young master, and you'll be well rewarded."
Xiaojing's eyes turned red.
She nodded and whispered, "Don't worry, Jitang."
He Jitang glanced at Su Ruanruan again, then got up and called Xiao Ci'an to come in.
He Ci'an had probably heard, and when he came in, his little nose was red, as if he had been crying.
He Jitang was always strict with him: "A boy crying so easily, what does that look like?"
Xiao Ci'an was so scared he didn't dare to cry.
Su Ruanruan's heart softened.
She brought Xiao Ci'an to her side and wiped his tears.
She said to He Jitang, "He's so young and will be going back to City B soon, maybe it will be months before we can meet again. Why be so harsh?"
Little Ci'an, comforted by her gentleness, secretly delighted.
That little look made He Jitang both angry and amused.
